Maybe....but it also works the other way. Zeeon don´t have to hide for the most famous plug-ins sound and feature wise and even is better in some areas (at least for me and a few others i know) but it only costs 10 dollar. So what should i expect now for those 200 dollar synths?
Also if Zeeon will come as plug-in for 50 dollar even for 100 it would be a winner for me.
And there will be coming more awesome things for iOS in the future. Maybe no need for plug-ins in some years (dramatized).

And here we go again... I was just watching a video of Zeeon. OK, a neat synthesizer, but in what concerns features, it doesn't bring anything new to the table. There are dozens of those already available in Windows (and even Mac OS). In terms of sound, it sounded OK, but nothing that would make me call home. It's another subtractive synth, in the vein of Sylenth (and even didn't sound as powerful as Sylenth to me - I think Sylenth filters are way better, and they are more varied). I brought Sylenth to the table as I could have bring many others.

Now since I can't compare the sound of the two, I will never know, for sure. but I'm certain noone would change platform because of things like this - it's hardly a game changer, IMO. At a price of $99 he will have a hard-time trying to sell it as a VST. At a price of $50, maybe. And I'm noot aware of any 200 dollar synth with a feature list similar to Zeeon - that would be insane.

Anyway, if it's in the kinds of Zeeon that you base your assumption of a bright future for tablets (iOS in particular), I guess you have to think again.

Never heard of Zeeon, but it sounds great. Why aren't they making these for VSTs? I don't understand.

The PC world (PC and Mac) are fully realized platforms capable of all levels of professional work.

It is a lot of work to make VST plugins work across a range of DAW's. Different DAW's have different quirks and often plugin developers have code specific to dealing with individual DAW's. Then of course you have multiple plugin formats and Mac and PC versions. There is also the aspect of how the plugin deals with automation, midi control, scaling of GUI's etc.

iOS is still basically a toy platform (I do not mean that an insult). I have the latest iPad Pro and it only has 3GB RAM and not higher possibility. It is not even close to being a full fledged professional audio environment.

To check it out, I just purchased Zeeon, since it is so cheap... I like it. It has an enjoyable sound and plenty of modulation. The sync sounds are bland but in various other ways it has a pleasing character... there are a number of features missing that are showstoppers for me were it a VST. No breath or expression pedal for example. I also found a number of bugs such as modulating filter resonance does not work.

I'm going to make the assumption that since it's made by Beep Street, the same people who made Dagger, that it's a synthesizer made from circuit modelling, in the same way LuSH-101, Diva and their Dagger are circuit modelled. So it puts it into a different category to Sylenth1, which is meant to be CPU efficient, and is algorithmic rather than circuit modelled.

You shouldn't assume anything, because:
1. Zeeon is made in iOS. I'm sure that if it was "circuit-modeled" they would clearly state it (EDIT - they did, which makes things look even worse - like I said: marketing mambo-jambo);
2. Dagger is a monosyth (and the fact that is "circuit modeled" doesn't mean a shit to me - it's just marketing mambo jambo). And who cares about Dagger, anyway.
3. LuSH-101 is a CPU hogger, and not that special either, if you just listen to a single layer. I prefer TAL Bassline anyday.
4. Sylenth still sounds really good, and way better than what I heard from Zeeon. And it's the sound that matters, not how it is achieved. The fact that it is very light on the CPU is a bonus.

Anyway, I clearly stated that I was not comparing the sound, since I could not run them concurrently. I was comparing the features - and Zeeon, in what concerns features, is pretty pale - not a game changer, by any means. But if they dare, I guess they can always try to sell Zeeon as a VST for $200

For me Zeeon sounds a million times better.
But as usual it's flavor and this thread should stay about P900 which is an awesome synth.

Of course... it runs in iOS so, it HAS TO SOUND a million times better. They sell it for ten bucks and don't dare to enter in the highly competitive VST market, because they are kind souls, but at the same time fear piracy.

Funny enough, the best they came up in VST is a monosynth (but at least they just as € 35).

It´s just a different workflow which is different from the old dinosaur desktop workflow which of course is still great today. Some. things works much better on iOS, a lot things are lacking

And what has that to do with the sound quality. A free synth can sound better than an expensive one. IPads are faster than the average notebook.
Moog still is iOS only too in software but of course they don´t know what they do
Think whatever you want and i respect if you say you don´t like the sound but saying it can´t be good because it´s cheap and running on a mobile OS is dumb.

I never sayed it´s a game changer. I just sayed i prefer it over DIVA even which is awesome but don´t talk to me like Zeeon. And it is as powerful as DIVA for me but for 10 dollar. So what´s wrong with that.
