Sliders are divided into 2 parts: fine tune and normal steps.

Without any doubts - this synth is something from the audio technology view but it's almost on the Absynth level in terms of usability. It's not so strange because it was designed by the same person and it seems Brian's synths should be awkward to use but sound cool.

I would say this is a unique style. Perverted, making people hate the process but fall in love with results at the same time.

I can't use it now but, maybe, after a year or so of occasional tries, I will be able to use it on a daily basis. Maybe not

I love the sound but likewise, I don’t like the GUI.
I’m finding it really confusing. For example, I load the Default patch and can’t get OSC 2 to even make a sound, the volume is up, there doesn’t appear to be an on/off button. It’s a strange GUI.

The GUI certainly leans in the sui generis direction. Absynth was decidedly the same way, and I came to absolutely love that GUI (something about Stockholm Syndrome?).

Absynth always had a pretty horrible GUI, but it was years ahead of anything else for advanced sound design when it came out so I squinted and struggled with it...not so much with this one, there are just so many great sounding MPE VSTs with attractive and easy to use GUI's that something has to tick 'every' box for me now.

I must really say I worry more about no prize announcement so far

. What should I install a demo I fall in love with instantly (and after the Skippy live presentation I am nearly sure I will) and then to realize it is simply not affordable for me

Dark themes like that hurt my eyes very bad. Nothing I can do about it.
I honestly much preferred the old GUI, it might have been "uglier" or "uninspiring" to some people but it looked much clearer and easier on the eye, which is all I personally care for.

Color scheme aside, layout-wise I have nothing to complain, I find it very well thought and organized.
Aside from one thing... why is coarse adjustment on the high-value half of vertical sliders and on the low-value half of horizontal sliders? That's a quite inconsistent/confusing design choice.

I'm truly sad because I've really been waiting for this synth, and I like it but my eyestrain tells me otherwise. Either it comes with a more neutral color scheme like the old one, or I'll pretty much just have to give up on this, which would be a real shame.

The synth sounds great, very nice presets to showcase it, some of those almost breathtaking.
Talking about presets, not having an "Init" preset on a demo which obviously can't save or recall a custom made Init preset is "a little" annoying.
If I somehow missed the "Init" I'd sure like to know.

I love dark themes, and because of this I really wish all plug ins and DAWs came with multiple themes with the ability to adjust it.

I agree about the course and fine adjustments, weird choice. It's pretty optimized for touch screens though, and I'm happy about that.

In general this is an instant buy for me. The FX section alone is worth it. The one thing I never liked about absynth was choosing between short flanger type delays and long ones.
