What the flip??? Please let us know the details and the outcome. My Ultimate expires in three weeks, so I’m super interested in what happens with your Loyalty keys.
Just cancelled the sub, or deleted account as well?
From the Roland t&c's...

Hey Alyosius! This has been a popular request and we recently added a search option to v2 of the JUPITER-8, JUPITER-4 and JUNO-106! You can find it by clicking the "browse" option and above your patch list you'll find a search bar. As always thank you for the feedback, it really does help us decided what to include in future updates. :phones:

The bank name and patch name write to the same part of the screen, rendering the text illegible. The same converted banks on the JV-1080 don’t have that problem. Surely this has been reported to Roland. I’m new here, but this must be a known issue, right?
Hey ToddlerTN! Thank you for pointing this out! This is a known glitch that has been reported. if you want a work around for this the patch. Names are stored in C:\ProgramData\Roland Cloud\XV-5080 and you'll see the factory patch banks labeled "PR-A.bin, PR-B. bin" etc.. if you abbreviate the patch names that appear distorted this should solve the problem. Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Hey everyone! I just want y'all to know that I appreciate all of the feedback you have about Roland Cloud. I love hearing your feature requests and will continue to make notes and report them to our team. I completely understand that sometimes it's frustrating waiting for updates, waiting for instruments etc.. But we are working hard to try and make this experience great for you. So if we miss something, if you find a bug or want to see a feature, it really does help us to let us know. And I'm always available to talk more in private messages if you want to as well. Best! :D

Jon, my P4L Ultimate expires on July 30. When I click the promo link, the button for Ultimate says “active” and does nothing when I click it, and the button for Pro says “unavailable” and is grayed out. I have two Loyalty keys that I haven’t used yet. Apparently, these disappear if I let my subscription expire, but it seems I can’t downgrade to Pro until my Ultimate expires. So, I’m looking for clarity around the Loyalty keys and whether I need to use them before my subscription ends. Roland has supposedly changed the way this works without announcing those changes or documenting them, so can you please help with some guidance?
Hey ToddlerTN! Just seeing this. I'll reach out to you via direct message. :)

So a while back (late May or early June) I was having issues with the RC website and my keys. Sent support a message and after a couple weeks they "fixed" it. It was the same problem others are describing about the keys not being available to switch.

After a couple of weeks they did switch the key (from one synth to another while I was sub'd), but now three entries/keys are missing from the website. I feared to send them another message, ha ha! I've been using Softube (106, 101), TAL (Jupiter 8, Juno 60) and Arturia (Jupiter 8, Juno 6) in their place. RC has better features like extra envelopes, but Softube has the best sound.

Just to echo here...major problems with the website and key system. v2 updates are still wonky on MacOS/Ventura/Intel i9. And it has been over a year since any synths...don't need to sub if there aren't any new synths. I'd suggest starting with the JX-8P.

I'm really rooting for Roland to come through as my first synth was a Juno 106 and I love the old Roland sound.

Thanks, Jon. I appreciate workarounds, but I’ve got a lot of custom banks, and it’ll be hard for me to recognize them having to truncate their names to just a few characters. The XV-5080 is one of the synths I care most about (I still own one), and I’d like to use a Loyalty key on it, but I want it to truly replace my rack mount unit. Can you give me any hope that this will be fixed eventually? Just looking for some assurance that a programmer will get to it eventually. As a software developer, I’m almost positive it’s a quick fix. Sorry to be a pest about it.

that's great, but how about letting ALL of us know what the policy is regarding this, since more than one user here is reporting problems with this?

Support were very fast in helping out.

There was a glitch with my Ultimate sub, and even though I'm still a member for another month, those 2 keys are gone from my Loyalty page.

Support added the two keys I lost to my account on the 'back-end', so they show up in RCM as owned, but it means I can never switch out those two keys manually for something else, unless maybe I ask support to do it, which is too much hassle.

So yeah, I got my two instruments back, my membership just got borked by what I can only assume is bad code.

They think it's because I had PRO P4L, and upgraded to ULTIMATE P4L after a month which messed everything up.

Post

I may or may not resub for a year to get on P4L but let’s just say releasing a new must have instrument between now and when the deal ends next month would turn it from a maybe to a yes baby.

Hey everyone! It's Jon again. I want to make a post regarding Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys from the Loyalty Program and Play 4 Life Promotions since it has been a source of a number of inquiries. If you’ve earned a Reward Instrument Lifetime Key through our Loyalty Program promotion (closed for new enrollment on 12/31/2018) or one of our Play 4 Life promotions, these are your instruments and will not be removed from your account. If this you feel you are missing Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys, please reach out to us direct for account specifics.

With Play 4 Life you will receive your Reward Instrument Lifetime Key(s) after your annual Play 4 Life membership ends. Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys are only earned with the purchase of an annual Play 4 Life offer during the promotional window. Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys can be selected or swapped at any time during the annual membership term, then selections will be finalized upon the completion of the membership term. Previously, Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys selections were able to be modified during any active membership, but as part of general system maintenance and keeping up with the growing Roland Cloud community, this has been changed to apply directly to the membership term when the Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys were earned.

If you are maintaining the same membership you had when you signed up for the Loyalty Rewards program, you should still be able to modify Reward Instrument Lifetime Key selections, but If you canceled your initial Loyalty membership and then signed up for another membership, you will no longer be able to modify Loyalty Program Reward Instrument Lifetime Key selections.

We are always available to help with account specifics through the Contact Support portal, so please feel free to reach out to us there, or reach out to me direct if you ever have questions. Thanks everyone, and have a great weekend!

Post

Thanks, Jon. You wrote that selections now “apply directly to the membership term when the Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys were earned.” But what happens if you complete your membership term and do not renew (revert to a free account), and you also haven’t made any Loyalty Program Reward Instrument Lifetime Key selections? Do you lose them?

Hi Jon, I think everyone here would have liked a heads-up about this very drastic change. Nothing changed in the interface, the delete icons are still there, so we had no idea that our last selection suddenly would be "finalized". A simple "next month we will change the rules" banner on the account page would have been sufficient.

I'm probably not alone with now being stuck with lifetime synths I would rather have changed to something else, had I known this was my final choice. I was thinking of signing up for another P4L term this year but this has left a pretty bitter taste in my month, to say the least.

Post

The reason it’s particularly concerning, though if this is rule has changed please let me know, is that we were told on here that Cloud customers are limited to a maximum of 10 lifetime instrument acquired through Play4Life. There’s no way I would have chosen the 707 I ended up with before letting my sub lapse if I’d known it would be stuck there forever, especially as I think I only get 4 more picks before hitting that 10 instrument ceiling.

My intention was to wait for a new instrument I liked the look of being released and jumping on the next available P4L style deal when available. Moving the goalposts like that leaves a very sour taste.
I can fully understand bringing in some limitations like maybe only allowing instruments to be changed once a month or only if you are on at least a Pro sub, but this is a pretty major change to drop on everyone without prior warning.

If Roland Cloud won’t roll this change back then why not give every account holder a one off opportunity over a particular month to get their lifetime synths changed? Be fair to us and we’ll be fairer with you.

Well i guess this is my last year of roland cloud. The service started promising but now it is just pr stuff and blabla. Also what kind of service and customer unfriendliness is this? You may only have 10 lifetime keys. Lol. Then keep your cloud i am hitting 10 keys already. What advantages do i get? I give my money to other companies without this cloud bullshit and where i can own more than 10 vsts without even an internet connection. This service sucks and i hope people realize it that the last few years are very bland and just pr posts.

Normally you give money and take the product you purchased home. Done. Now companies start to let you study their policies and rent only their products. Byebye until rules are changed lol

FWIW unless I’m mistaken I think the limit is keys acquired only via Play4Life. I have 5 other keys I picked up via the original deal where it wasn’t named as a promotion, but just the original Roland Cloud rent to buy thing, and I don’t think they count those.
