deleted to not derail this too much (nobody is really interested in my POV anyway...).

So how would you know what he wrote to Ingo ?Frantz wrote:Every would be skin designer can enjoy friendly interaction with Admiral Quality. He wrote this to Ingo:Teksonik wrote: So as I've said several times before please contact Admiral Quality if you are thinking about doing a skin.
You either must be blind or just in love with anything that's had your magic touch applied to it. Sorry but there's no nice way to say it. What I'm seeing is stupendously, outrageously, appallingly bad. Your lines are jaggy (particularly the curves around the corners of the borders). You've increased contrast so all the antialiasing of the text is gone. It looks like it's made out of Lego. And you've annihilated the branding. Don't worry, there isn't a chance in hell that I'd ever let this go up on our site. (I wish I could make it disappear from KVR!)
I don't know how many times Ingo has to be told and in how many ways. I guess it just won't ever sink in.
Anyway PLEASE leave the drama out of this thread......

Please for the love of God just....go....away.....Ingonator wrote:So goodbye from this thread for another time (maybe forever this time...)
The trouble is even when you have someone muted if someone quotes their post I can see it.......

OK, maybe Ingo isn't the most gifted designer on the planet, but did Mike need to be so harsh? Wouldn't be enough to just tell him what he disliked?
Really, I think his personality suffers of some kind of paranoid attitude, especially when it concerns his "baby"
Now, back on topic: What happened to this?

in fairness Ingo, your GUI was totally hideous. It was a step backwards from an already fugly default GUI.
sure, it's not bad to be new to visual design ... but when you publish this stuff - expect people to comment, and maybe it's not such a good idea to waste a dev's time when you're both technically challenged in this arena and also aesthetically...
and I generally dislike Mike and his ways.
but nevertheless.
just sayin.

Please can we just drop the drama ?
A mod has already come through this thread and cleaned it up once. Let's not make any more work for him and/or give him a reason to lock this one as well...........

FYI Ingo locked his own thread before posting here (again). I quoted his post for context, as he has a habit of deleting them. I can delete it if you wish.Teksonik wrote:A mod has already come through this thread and cleaned it up once. Back on topic. What happened to Norbz skin? It was looking good.

I did not "waste" his time, it was him who contacted me today, not the other way around. As a long time customer he had my e-mail. Actually i did not even expect to ever get my skins published at his website.Daags wrote: sure, it's not bad to be new to visual design ... but when you publish this stuff - expect people to comment, and maybe it's not such a good idea to waste a dev's time when you're both technically challenged in this arena and also aesthetically...

Can someone tell me the plot of this thread? I have tried it several times but it just don't click:
A guy posts his progress on a completely free skin in a thread that in principle can be ignored, and yet some other guys keep bragging and insulting the skinner because they think it is ugly and that the skinner post updates too often?
How is that supposed to make sense apart from displaying mentality and behavior like 5 years old ultra-spoiled western kids with ridicoulus first world problems up their ass?

You're late and you missed it.IncarnateX wrote:Can someone tell me the plot of this thread?
The thread is about designing a new skin for Poly Ana to win a free license. Just like the topic says.
Your post just stirs the pot again.
