Oh okay. A bundle which contains the 'current' products will need to be updated as a bundle every time there's something new. And since the company produce new products on a regular basis, the contents of the bundle will be 'changed multiple times a year..jon wrote:Sorry but no. Current isn't a "moving target" by definitionwhyterabbyt wrote:Because 'current' is a constantly moving target as NI bring out multiple new products every year that qualify as part of it. Komplete, which has two distinct versions, is also a boxed product, sold, physically, in shops. Shipping two new versions of Komplete to stores every other month (and recalling the old versions ) would just be impossible, and managing upgrade paths would just become a nightmare..jon wrote:No it shouldn't entitle me to any upgrades, but I'm talking about this from a new customer perspective.
Since it's just a software bundle, why doesn't it include current versions of their instruments?
But keeping the list of products in the bundle current, that wont involve any 'moving', it'll obviously be completely static, despite getting changed multiple times.
That makes sense.
In that case, there's clearly absolutely no explanation for why they wouldnt do what you think they should do. Have you thought about applying to manage the company? Clearly you know all this stuff better than they do.
Ah so its all about some completely unrelated ethical issue now is it? How unexpected. Its just as well you occupy the high ground on this one so that you can point out how morally bankrupt it us to ship 'virtual property' in any other form than the ones you approve of.and whoever thinks it's OK to waste resources by selling and buying virtual property on physical copies needs to re-evaluate their place in this world.
Presumably the lofty people who dont 'need to re-evaluate their place in this world' are fine about neglecting the needs of customers who dont have the knowledge, inclination or option except to buy from actual stores.
Yay for lots of lovely cloud server farms run by tax-avoiding multinationals replacing those evil tiny music shop businesses who sell actual stuff.
Because customer databases make all the decisions about upgrade path entitlement and pricing by themselves, obviously. Silly me.Manging upgrade paths is an absolute non-issue, in 2016 software companies might even have a computer in the office to hold a customer database.
And obviously, everyone would be absolutely be completely fine and not even raise some sort of an issue slightly if somone who bought the bundle the week after them got additional new products that they had to pay an upgrade fee for. That wont bother anyone, least of all you.
But wait. Isnt that basically the same thing as not including the latest version in the bundle but with slightly moved goalposts?
So should they just make it that everybody who bought the bundle at any point gets anything that ever goes into the bundle, which includes all new things that come out?
That seems to be where your argument goes, yes?
And of course that means there's really no such thing as a new version of the bundle, because the old version should include everything, old and new.
Im sure the company wont mind, though, not having their big new flagship bundle to sell every year; Im sure its not even slightly important to them.
In fact, really, why shouldnt anyone who gets the individual products get the same benefit; why should I have to pay for Reaktor 6 when I paid for Reaktor 5? We should just have free updates for life on everything. How dare a company not give us that?
Yes, because you were absolutely going to buy it until you find that out, and this isnt just an instance of that particular breed of twattish abitrary whining on the internet about a product you always get from people who are never going to buy the product anyway. Im absolutely convinced of that.Anyway, buying Komplete 10 is an automatic no-go for me as it comes with old versions. Their loss so I don't care that much.
Set Theory claim:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate.
Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

I think that it is. The only catch, per se, is that it cannot be as efficient as hard coded plugins that do the same thing. So you would expect to use somewhat more CPU for the same feature set in Reaktor than you would use with a natively coded plugin..jon wrote:What's the catch with Reaktor? Is there a dog buried somewhere? I've been playing (and instantly recording because it sounds just fantastic) with MicroPrism, browsing the blatantly amazing User Library and reading reviews- it looks like this is the best VSTi one could possibly buy?

That's perfectly fine, I have 10-15 tracks in projects and don't really push the CPU with FX processing either, I should be fine with heavier synths.ghettosynth wrote:I think that it is. don't bother. you'll just be complaining when they update one of the components because you'll have to wait for K12 to be released to get it as part of the upgrade. we don't need to hear it..jon wrote:And when is that?jsp1979 wrote:Wait for the day Komplete 11 is released and buy it. I was/am... but it is only in Reaktor 6 that I am hearing stuff people are doing in Reaktor that I find impressivev1o wrote:You were never impressed by Monarkpdxindy wrote:listening to audio of what people are doing with R6 and blocks is the first time I have actually been impressed by the sonic quality of Reaktor... first time I said, based on sound quality, I want this. Saving presets is weird too... and you also end up with your ensemble open within the Reaktor framework... it's all a bit clunky compared to a straight vst synthghettosynth wrote:I think that it is. Some excellent freebies for Reaktor Player 6, not only the Blocks, but R5 factory selection works great in R6P: Carbon2, NewScool and SpaceDrone + MikroPrism

Hey guys, do you know if there's a way of saving samples loaded into an ensemble in the project, in order to enable recall, without saving the whole ensemble again? I just want to load a sample on skanner, reopen the project and the sample be loaded in. I thought reaktor 6 would work around this since reaktor 5 didn't save the sample, but from what i've tested 6 doesn't either.
If I want the sample I used to be loaded in the ensemble when I reopen the project I have to actually resave the WHOLE ensemble just for one sample?
Thanks.

Carbon2 is so good, it's ridiculous.Numanoid wrote:Some excellent freebies for Reaktor Player 6, not only the Blocks, but R5 factory selection works great in R6P: Carbon2, NewScool and SpaceDrone + MikroPrism
I own Komplete Elements and the Reaktor Selection (Aerobic is one hell of a drum machine, you can forget about Sonic Charge Microtonic) plus the R5 Factory Selection might be all one needs for making music. I don't know but there's something about the Reaktor engine that has always sounded quite "warm & analogish" to my ears.

I wonder who made stuff like Aerobic and Limelite, was it inhouse Native Instruments?
