As someone mentioned already, the 200 bucks crossgrade pricing is almost available at any given sales promotion, ie Black Friday... I would suggest to wait until then and simply buy the crossgrade. Since you already got Komplete and Izotope stuff, I see no noteworthy stuff in sphere. Besides, you might be able to catch some of this content later on in additional deals one way or the other...commerce wrote: Thu Aug 06, 2020 2:34 pmI found this page:

And it seems to be $300.
I have at least two of the listed DAWs.
And I will probably have also the Artist OEM soon. That would be $300 too.
How will I go to $200?
Then Sphere is definitely more expensive.
I definitely do not need the notation.hlecram wrote: Wed Aug 05, 2020 9:47 pm - cool, in case you need/want all the stuff. If (extensive) notation is no big deal for you and you already have decent 3rd party vst and samples there is no need imo...
And I have NI Komplete, iZotope etc.
But generally many of us often want to have also the VSTs that we do not really need...
Cheers
Marcel

Haha...video now private, I wonder why that is... I'll take a wild guess that it is because they made it another exclusive to the Sphere ... In any case if you did miss it, you really didn't miss much that you have probably seen before in other videos about version 5. As ever, Nik begins with over-blowing the significance of version 5 which might have sounded convincing if he was even a user of the DAW. You can guess the rest other than Gregor revealing how a feature he wasn't convinced by had found an alternative use for him in his music and a huge moment where Gregor finally rises off that chair to play the synth you see in the background....and that's really the most interesting part of this whole video stream, a few seconds twiddling a few knobs. And the obligatory Sphere is the best option to go for mantra at the end... yeah sure it is lol.nIGhT-SoN wrote: Sat Aug 08, 2020 8:05 pm Show page in more detail, even though I'm not a performer, this looks really nice and pretty powerful -

Gregor will dance circles around you when it comes to Studio One. Presonus need people like Gregor who can communicate and relate to audience of today rather than those still stuck in the past from 10 years ago.THE INTRANCER wrote: Sun Aug 09, 2020 9:53 pmHaha...video now private, I wonder why that is... Was that what it was ? Because they could have spent less than 42 minutes..and covered a lot more

Definitely. And he 'dares' to use S1 for something else than tracking, mixing and mastering rock bands
I understand they're going after PT crowd, but I'd wager there's much more money to be made from hobbyist electronic music & beat producers. Even Steinberg seem to have noticed this, with at least 2 recent releases presented exclusively by beat makers, with Greg Ondo hidden away to do his nerdy livestreams 5 people are watching

One of the things that makes my old DAW of many years, Reaper, difficult is the visible user base are " tracking guitars and drums" and the tutorials tend to be around that so it is difficult for people like me who have no interest in that sort of music or the culture around it. When I finally decided to make the change from reaper to S1 and Bitwig I spent quite a bit of time watching video tutes to see if they suited the sort of musician and person I am. Gregor swung me to S1 - Bitwig has its own great people tooantic604 wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:36 amDefinitely. I'm sure there is. I also had the impression that the last couple of updates were for those, while the v5 update rather was what you described.antic604 wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:36 am I understand they're going after PT crowd, but I'd wager there's much more money to be made from hobbyist electronic music & beat producers.

Definitely! I'm saying the above to appreciate their direction, not to criticise itchk071 wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:55 amI'm sure there is. Although - like Bitwig - they try to straddle the line between both "worlds", e.g. the notation & expression editors in v5 are pretty useless for psytrance
