Re: the Arpeggiator Speed knob (or lack thereof), can anybody confirm my suspicions?

From what I have read here in a bunch of earlier posts, there's no way in version 2 of the Jupiter 8 plugin to change the arpeggiator speed relatively to the master tempo - this is by the way why I decided to hold off the update to version 2 except...

Except I just realized the knob to change the arpeggiator speed is indeed present (and described as such in the manual), but completely non functional in Jupiter 8 "version 1", AND also in the Juno 60 (not 106, it works fine there) plugin.

I can drag it, there's a BPM readout that goes from 40 to 300, but that has absolutely no effect on the arpeggiator speed (the Tempo Sync button does not seem to have anything to do with the arpeggiator either, as it only toggles the LFO and effects quantization, according to the user guide).

Moreover, and this is what I find suspicious, I can't midi map/midi learn the Tempo knob to my controllers, because there's no exposed parameter linked to it. I think this could mean that maybe the ability to change the arpeggiator speed was not removed and it just wasn't there in the first place? Is the Tempo knob in version 1 actually connected to nothing, or am I doing something wrong?

Regards,

sorry if this has been asked before, but how are the Wave Expansions (EXZ) different from the Sound packs (SDZ), other than the Sound Packs seem to be more specific to a genre? They both seem to be sample waveform based add ons for Zenology

Another question for people with a core membership (I currently have Pro but expect to go down to Core), what preset banks are in Zenology, it looks as if it is banks A-G..whereas Pro has additonal banks up to L-Essential 2?

Great question ChamomileShark. Wave expansions add new sampled waveforms to the ZENOLOGY workflow. Mirroring PCM technology these waveforms recreate the tones and sounds of real instruments. Sound packs offer unique genre and synth specific sounds that you can tweak to your liking. Both allow lots of customization in ZENOLOGY's edit window but offer totally different sounds and reference separate parts from classic Roland sound design tools.

As for your second question, ZENOLOGY and ZENOLOGY Pro both offer banks A-L where as ZENOLOGY Lite only offers A & I. Let me know if you have any other questions! :phones:

I can also confirm that System 1 finally works as an audio unit in Logic. This is on a silicon Mac. Previously I would get clicks and pops and crazy CPU jumps.

This is a frequently requested item. Someone actually brought it up at the roundtable. I'll definitely make a note of it for you. Thanks for the feedback! Love hearing what y'all want to see. :D

Hey Jon - it’ll cost Roland several million dollars in R&D and production to bring a new piece of System 8 hardware to market. Or, you could spend a microscopic fraction of that on just developer time and do an ACB of the JX-8P instead… :D

i think, given they have been releasing m1 compatible plugins already, that the others are in the works already, and will be released as they are ready.

waste of a wish.

Let’s hope so…
It’s been way too long now :(

I don’t have a Mac so as the last bunch of updates were basically just M1 Mac stuff I’d like some more v2 updates like they did with the Junos.

Are you safe?
