you will wonder how little effect different waveforms have. Its simply too fast to produce a great difference apart from noise amount.
therefore the best is sine in 90% of all cases...
and thats the reason why I see no need for OSC to OSC modulation, you simply can not do anything special which you cant already
you can select FM modulation OSC waveform (sine like said above), the amplitude (FM amount) and the pitch (rate) already
Ii agree there could be also a negative pitch direction, we will check out if this makes sense as soon as we have time for this.
i didnt understand
how did u get the same shape from the fm on the lfo
do it like in the pic and you have the solution :)

Post

Its the other way around, you make the shape in the lfo and then you get that shape in the fm ;)

Post

It would be also great to save LFO presets when you create a new LFO on the custom section and want to save it for other projects. I am crossing my finger for the ability to copy the shapes and paste them on the custom LFO. This is the best synth because the developers listen to our concerns.

Post

I want to be able to modulate the custom LFO's (C-LFO1). That's where the current FM limitations are!

Try drag the C-LFO envelope dots around when play your fm sound! That's what I would like to modulate!

:phones:

Post

sorry, difficult...
Could get CPU hungry, and furthermore causes a lot of problems: since we have an infinite amount of points in a C-LFO, how should you specify which to modulate? Mod Target: NPoint 136 in x-axis (they must be a duplicate in y-axis too)... this results in hundreds and hundreds of modulation sources, for a questionable result (changing the treble sprectrum a bit from softer to harsher)
remember: you can already modulare FM Depth and Pitch of the Waveform (FM and RATE) these are way more dramatic then changing the shape.

Post

Use a combination of Avenger and Bitwig! By using the new Audio Rate modulator in Bitwig you can modulate all stuff in Avenger. Best of both worlds! :tu:

Hey mac users, does anyone noticed that the preset categories (Factory and expansions) are not sorted by name anymore?

Post

in latest version of logic and High Sierra everytime I load Avenger AU then replace it with a different or no instrument it crashes logic....ideas?

Post

I want to modulate a sine wave with the partials of an FM sync in harmonic shift mode, matrixed with a granular texture map onto the x axis of the target layer's third envelope but the y axis of the wavetable's inverted deviation from the subharmonic ring modulator. Why no Avenger do this?

can't reproduce your issue. Try rescanning the (already validated au) in plug-in manager.

by the way, can you confirm that your preset categories are display in the correct alphabetic order? this is the problem I have in the latest macos...

A demo that last two weeks or a month only.

Sound cuts off after 30 minutes.

Shouldn't this be enough of a demo limitation?

Is it necessary to also disable saving presets (or loading for that matter).

More often than not, most devs atleast allow saving in the demo versions (some also loading).

I think I also read, disabling the saving function would make it harder for people to steal it. Is that concern still valid now?

Okey, simple solution then is to limit to env. point 1-3 or 1-5.
If you test what I described by moving the env. point in realtime you hear that it's not only treble differences. Im' no FM expert but I have also worked with Serum long enough to know that treble differences is not the only difference when wavetable B --> FM --> wavetable A for ex, when B's waveform is manipulated at the same time. You only get these small treble differences you talk about if you have very high modulation frequency.

Anyway, it would be so cool if you could find a simpler solution with another method maybe?

Where would be the difference to the demo version if you can save and load presets and have no limitations? Does not make sense!
I can see that you make some sound libraries for different synths and make money with that. What is your intention? Wanna make a sound pack with a demo version? I can say that this synth is worth to buy and there is enough time to test it.

There are several reasons:
1. for the reason you have already mentioned
2. to meet the title "Demo Version".
3. to prevent people from selling their own preset packs without buying the synth

I think there is more...

Hi there. I did not say anything about having no limitations.

Not being able to save presets is odd. Every synth that caught my attention could.

It's a personal work flow thing. If I could save patches, I'd probably spend more than a few hours with it.

It is a minor request I thought to bring up again since the recent incident might have changed things, albeit a personally moot one since I'm already bidding on it in the auction.

If the only limitation left is stop producing sound then it's not a minor change anymore. I think disabling save/load is pretty common for demo versions meanwhile and I like it. It's better than disabling features or having a fixed demo period of x days.
