Boy that brings back memories. I saw them perform in Maryland probably just a few months after this one was filmed. One of the very best rock concerts I've ever seen. Thanks for posting that!Chuck E. Jesus wrote:great early live version of devo doing "mongoloid"

Hey, that DEVO clip is pretty sweet!
But I felt all sweaty just looking at them rocking out in those poly-vinyl suits... ("Stay cool during nuclear meltdowns"? Yeah, right!
)
Anyway I discovered a bunch of Mummy the Peepshow videos recently uploading on YouTube and I was tempted to post them here...but... here's a Soapland Momiyama clip instead, for your purveyors of garagey quasi-metal with fugly-cute Japanese girls!

There's just been a thread about it at KVR recently as well.Atomsplitter wrote:I liked this interactive modular music thing so much i gave it a thread of it's own, thinking about it now i probably should have just posted it here, found it via another forum -
Not that I'd ever need something like that, but GOD, I want to fool around with it one day, pretty please! Looks so ergonomically and aesthetically pleasing!

no problem at all, if ya ask me, Chuck E.
I discovered DEVO in '77 within six months of discovering Todd Rundgren and (the real)Van Halen
...a LOT of great music came out at that time...and now we have THIS as well...I ain't saying Devo 2.0 is bad... (I love the ....irony)
I'm just sayin' that as a 14 year old, DEVO brought me to the jarring epiphany of how visceral and completely different they were from anything I'd ever seen/heard before...and the thing is- Devo always has really GOOD songs
.
Devo2.0 doesn't deliver that. maybe it's good that kids get to hear Devo music though...and I hope that Mothersbaugh and Co got well off of what ever deal was struck with Disney to do this
thanks for posting all these clips, dude.

Hey, why wait? You can do it now AFAIK. The software is open source; you can get it here: http://www.iua.upf.es/mtg/reacTable/?softwareSascha Franck wrote:There's just been a thread about it at KVR recently as well.Atomsplitter wrote:I liked this interactive modular music thing so much i gave it a thread of it's own, thinking about it now i probably should have just posted it here, found it via another forum -

I think the most difficult part is just getting the necessary equipment (read: the video projector and translucent table -- anyone got spare ones lying around they'd care to donate to me?
I just got done downloading everything I could get my hands on and hopefully after this (final!) semester at the university, I'll give this puppy a try... should be tons o' fun!

Just wondering, can we post DailyMotion or Metacafe videos here or is it just YouTube?? Cause YouTube has very annoying 10 minute limit on things that others don't have, so including other video websites may give a wider selection for this KVR audience. I have a couple of DailyMotion vids I'd post. Why don't we change the title of this thread from "YouTube goodness" to "Online Video Goodness"???
Just a thought
