Spectrasonics Omnisphere!

Thanks, but that doesn't answer my question if Omni will have ergonomic precautions, letting people like myself with mouse arm use the computer keyboard to do commands like switching presets.

Yes, you can make selections in the browser without using your mouse.

In a pinch, and depending on your recording needs, Minihost allows one to change presets
with the arrow keys, while playing notes on the qwerty, and while holding notes, the mouse is still active turn knobs for testing...very handy for using Wusikstation, to quickly find the 'amazing keepers' among the hoardes merely 'good' sounds. Having such options in the plugin GUI itself would be wonderful!

Since nobody has bothered to answer my question since March 28, a month ago, I take it that Omnisphere won't let me change presets with my computer keyboard. Since it will have thousands of presets, it will most probably bring death to my mouse arm.

Don't worry.

Glenn did answer your question about being able to select patches without using the mouse...the answer to that question is YES, there are a bunch of interesting ways to avoid the problem you are describing through MIDI and the powerful new browser.

ASCII patch selection is not directly supported, but you'll see much clearer what we mean about how easy it is to select sounds without the mouse in an upcoming video episode.

- at the end of Video #5, Eric says he'll show us what we can do with those loops and stuff that was released for the contest... And then he starts PLAYING them...
Now, I bought the Stylus RMX a couple of months ago but I did not know I could do that. So, I assume that is something you'd do with OMNISPHERE, and can't do with Stylus RMX?

looks like you havent detected the joys of the groove menu mode yet.

Now, I bought the Stylus RMX a couple of months ago but I did not know I could do that.

Set a suite to "Groove menu" mode, not "slice menu" (from the menu at the bottom).

Now *all* loops in suite are loaded up onto the keyboard - so in the case of the Omnisphere content, one loop is under each key. And you can play them.

And note, edit groups still work...

Thought about competing in the Omnisphere remix contest, and downloaded the Omnisphere sounds for Stylus RMX. I followed the instructions in the attached PDF-file on how to copy the library into the 'User Library' directory, then started my host and fired up Stylus RMX... but the Omnisphere-sounds cannot be selected! The minute I click on 'User Library', it shows the Omnisphere sound directory for a fraction of a second, and then reverts back to the core library...

My spec: Win XP / Cubase SL 3.3.1

Deleted the files, unzipped the archive again, moved the (correct) directory into the user library, and now it works!

Nice sounds, extremely nice sounds! (but I didn't expect less from Eric & Co. )

I just watched a couple of episodes again and my trigger finger (incidently the same finger which is used for "add to cart", "checkout" and "order") is really itching. I will probably get RMX at the same time.

I will be forced to use ableton in my upcoming teaching gig and I'm just curious to how Stylus RMX works with it. Any input would be nice. I take for granted that atmosphere/omnisphere is simply integrated.

Yes, RMX and Ableton Live is a great combo. RMX includes specific Ableton oriented video tutorials too.
