An update for those that still want more! (from the Vital Info thread... but in case you have any questions or would have missed it).

1. DVD Option Upgrade will be available by tomorrow (or late tonight). $50 plus shipping, 6 DVDs and includes ALL of the extras (all 4 Multitrack kits + even the STm Jazz Kit).

2. Hard Drive Option Upgrade will be available this week as well. $199 comes with ALL of the extras + a 250 gigabyte portable hard drive with 7200 rpm, FW 800, 400 and USB 2.0 (slick "Infinite HD"). All sounds from the GB pre-installed (pre-requisite is that you purchased the Ultimate Studio Drums Group Buy - otherwise it'd be an additional $99 for the sounds if you haven't purchased them already).

3. EXTRA iMAP MIDI FILES (including a bunch of funky SquidiMidi - ie. groovy ghosty funk finger drumming by your friendly neighborhood Squid + a variety of additional grooves on top for those patient enjoyers of iMap!). Exact count I don't know but it will be more than we originally said.

4. STILL doing drum-only audio examples for each of the Drum Masters kits similar to what we had for the OWD kits (sorry we didn't have that earlier which would have been ideal for buying but we're still doing it for the regular release of Drum Masters 2 Signature Volume 1 and 2 as well as for current Ultimate Studio Drums users to have their own mp3 demos on hand in case they want to use it for quick auditioning purposes before loading kits... which was a request from users we have not forgotten about!).

5. STILL doing video demonstrations which will be an on-going thing once we have that off the ground. Not quite there yet but we should be some time this month.

6. The SOUND MANUAL! Yes, we have one with explanation of each panel of the new GUI. It will be available before the end of the week. Not long after we'll have screen shot tutorials as well with tips and tricks.

7. MORE sounds... Drum Masters 2 Signature Kits Volume 1 and 2 are now available for pre-order on www.esoundz.com However, we have a unique surprise this week regarding them which may be of interest to those that joined the Ultimate Studio Drums Group Buy. More exciting news on that coming...

Any chance of a Mac Pro Tower group buy? ;-)
I recommend using CSR as a send/return effect in your DAW as opposed to an insert. In a real-world studio if someone had a Lexicon 480L they wouldn't have one as an insert for every stereo channel. They'd run auxiliary sends to it and then send different amounts of each mic channel of the drums to it. Ken Scott, for example would rarely ever send the direct kick mic to the reverb. It was enough that the overheads had it.

Hope that helps.
Thanks, definitely still learning with these.

so are we still on for the end of the week to get the EXTRA iMAP MIDI FILES?

Post

The bonus iMap Midi files are ready and the final global patch update should be ready tomorrow.

I was originally thinking we'd do about 50 bonus iMap grooves but we ended up doing over a hundred and while most of them are "SquidiMidi" (done by me finger drumming with iMap - making use of ghost notes and snare rolls in a sort of funk style) and then also "Song Grooves" which are more traditional rock/pop grooves with a variety of fills and variations for verses, choruses, sometimes intros and endings... a nice selection!

That's just the beginning. It's time for the onslaught of Sonic Reality midi grooves to finally happen. I'll be doing hundreds of them this year but we're also doing them with various Drum Masters drummers starting on this Thursday at the Sonic Reality Studio in Miami with John Blackwell (drummer for Prince, Diddy, Timbaland, Cameo, Lauryn Hill, Patti Labelle...). So, some PREMIUM midi grooves coming and a portion of it will be FREE to all Sonic Reality Drum Masters users - including those that joined this group buy.

So a lot of continued added value after the fact just for being a Sonic Reality and eSoundz customer and on going rewards for getting into our world of expressive iMap and V-Drum programming. We want to keep you happy and telling more people about it.

On that front there's something VERY cool I will let you know about hopefully before the end of the week that relates to your Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle... makes it more powerful.

Squids! This is some sweet news!

For those that had download problems... or for just getting a good deal for all the kit extras. Here's the DVD option: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4166

Second Global Patch Update will be available later today. What it does is fix any issues with the kits that were found. Most of them are subtle and not something you'd notice though.

This patch update doesn't add the CC4 feature for the hi hat yet though. But for those waiting we have tested the first hi hat script yesterday that can do it so that is getting close. More news coming on that when I have it.

Later today the Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle will still be available (and still for a limited time) but the "extras" no longer come with it - just the main sound set.

Already done! The Group Buy deal is officially OVER. However, the main bundle itself will be available for a limited time. As for how much longer I am not sure but it will not be around forever.

It can be purchased here (also works with Paypal): http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4167

Additionally there is a temporary "DVD Option Upgrade" that is ONLY available this month. It will no longer be available after Feb 28th so if you were having trouble downloading the kits then this (or the Infinite HD option which will be available this week as well) is a way to go to solve that. Your kits will still remain in your download area as well though so this is just for convenience and by popular request. That is here: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4166

So will the squid midi grooves and update patch be placed in our DL area? If not where do we find them?

Do you have the latest EZplayer pro (v1.0.5?) - it was updated to deal with some mapping bug. And are you selecting Sonic Reality >> Drum Masters or iMap (Extended)? If so, can you give some details of what you are getting?

The bonus midi loops should make it into your esoundz member's area downloads some time today. But the final Global Patch Update has been postponed until next week. We did a V-Drum midi groove session yesterday with John Blackwell and noticed a few things (always a good test to have a drummer like that try them all out). Just fine tuning but should make the kits more consistent.

Also, other news, I tried out the first version of the V-Drum Hat script with CC4 control. It was definitely an improvement for the hi hat controllers that send CC4. But I wanted more range control of the envelope releases as well as the switch point between the medium open to full open or edge open samples. Between these settings and the border settings on your hardware unit there would be the possibility for us to get it sounding good in the preset but each person's ability - if they wanted/needed to give it more or less variance in closed to openness. When we have that we'll let some of you V-Drummers try it out before it gets applied to all of the V-Drum hi hats in this collection and Drum Masters 2 Signature Kits Vol. 1 and 2.

By the way, we had John "demo" his "JB Session" kits from the V-Drum on video/audio so that will be coming as well as video demos - finally - of all Drum Masters 2 kits played from V-Drums as well as from the keyboard with iMap.

On top of this, there's a juicy surprise coming.

Yes..I select Sonic reality>imap on ezplayer pro version 1.0.5 and these midi grooves don't play right, the hi hat is a tom and so on, every other midi loop I have works, just not these free ones. I can drag them from a folder onto a midi track in protools and it works but I prefer to use ezplayer so you can at least audition it. It's weird because it does work just dragging it to the midi track, but not with ezplayer..I tried setting it to imap, drum masters, imap extended, does not work in any of them.

has anyone else tried these loops in ezplayer? I would like to know if it is just me having the problem because I am pretty sure I am doing it right!
