I really shouldn't have clicked on this thread :hihi:

They simply announced it "a bit" early, that's the only "mistake" they made.
I seriously can't understand how someone can get upset by something like that?

It should be a requirement to work in software developement for at least 2 weeks before joining KVR, people suddenly would reconsider what they can "demand" from developers :hihi:

Believe me, the Bitwig guys want this to be ready far more than any us.

What I've seen so far looks fantastic and I'm really looking forward to it! I wish them all the best!

Cheers
Dennis

Leave it to the collective internet community to transform hopefulness into pessimistic schadenfreude, even going so far as people *wanting* it to fail if it's released. The sense of entitlement I keep seeing in comment threads about Bitwig is amazing to me and it hasn't even been released yet.

Well...really want to agree with you, but according to the latest article in Bizwig business magazine, it is KVR's fault. Seems our little jibes have left the devs catatonic.

The Bitwig folks don't owe anyone anything. People who manufacture drama around stuff like this are often the same kind of fickle people that endlessly move from host to host, never satisfied, always obsessing over some problem that apparently makes it "impossible" for them to make music, which they'll blame on the host. This gives them an excuse to procrastinate and avoid the actual laborious creative process of making music, instead spending their time ranting on Internet forums and continually being on the lookout for some future perfect program that'll magically make them more creative.

Yeah, but it's more than a bit late...I did work in software development and managed developers for a long time. Developers are always far more confident than they should be about hitting dates - that's why they don't run companies.

I think everyone wishes them the best, but I think they did themselves some damage by announcing something far too early that they couldn't deliver on. Believe me, I get where the mistake came from, I just think they put too much confidence in their marketing and sales ability.

Agree. Perfectly happy with following the ongoing the bitwig thread. Can't even remember what the thread was originally about - I just come here for the cats and lolz. It's like Caturday is every day of the week now.

Exactly! It happens all the time to developers (When was U-He Bazille originally going to be released? 5 years ago?) and creative people in general.

I just don't understand why people are upset about that. The Bitwig guys did no harm to anyone except themselves. When people start to wish other people loosing their jobs because they announced a music software too early on the interwebz something is clearly very wrong.

I have nothing against the cats by the way! That's how the whole situation should be seen, it's funny and not the end of the world!

Back to cat pictures now!

Cheers
