How is Predator a "really bad synth in comparison..."? And you would maybe give it a chance as freeware? It's not a bad synth at all. I would not compare it to Rapid or Avanger either, as I think Predator has a more "analog" feel to it. Don't think Predator 2 are competing (completely) against the more workstation like synths either.Taurus wrote:It's a really bad synth in comparison with rapid and other state of the art softsynths. Predator 2 is a good synth, not the best, but far from bad. It's better than it's predecessor, and a very good complement to Blue 2.

It's an interesting dilemma. P1 usually gets very positive reviews here on the forum. P2 (though in appearance is quite different) offers some good bells and whistles. It just depends on whether you would use them - I know I've taken advantage of the new additions. I dig it, and for me well worth $50.Vortifex wrote:I'll stick with my original Predator. Don't see enough of a reason to spend the money on the upgrade. I'm happy with it the way it is.

demo it and test it by yourselfchk071 wrote: Can't help myself, but, if that's what Predator 2 is like,
If you actually owned P1 you would know that presets in the video don't represent practically anything and P2 comes with almost 6000 presets.and what the factory soundbank is like,
Mitch Murder, a well-known figure in synthwave scene is known for using Predator. He also uses Renoise and he was the guy who composed most of the music for Kung Fury.then that's pretty mediocre. Really would have expected them to up the sound engine with version 2, doesn't sound like it has been done.
You don't have to explain to me anything, go explain to tens of thousands of people who listen to his music how his synth is mediocre because at the end of the day that's literally the only thing that matters:
does someone actually listens to your crap or not, no matter what synth, DAW, instrument or gear you are using.
Weapons don't win the battle, but the heart of a hero.

The predator2 filter + GUI are the joke of the day for me. Predator2 is not worth the price. The state of the art technology of softsynths is miles away from Predator2. It is just my opinion. If you find Predator2 sounds great, then buy it. For me Predator2 is the joke of the year.manandmusic wrote:THIS IS THE JOKE OF THE DAY!Taurus wrote:It's a really bad synth in comparison with rapid and other state of the art softsynths. Fine for me if you don't like P2, but your post just sounds like a joke saying it's miles away from other synths

I really like Predator and now v2. I use u-he synths and NI. I think Predator is offering me another great range of great sounds + FX section is like godsend.Taurus wrote:The predator2 filter + GUI are the joke of the day for me. I have to admit that rp is still lost in the past time. This synth would Not Impress the New Gen cause you have to present it modern and netter. The New presets Manager is still clunky, the presentation is also in many ways clunky and i like p2 but the introduction Bank is Bad as an introduction Bank where you have to Impress Users especially New Users.

I disagree. Talk for yourself. Not all new users are preset jumpers. I you want preset rompler buy Nexus and be done with it. If you are serious in to synth and sound design Predator is extremely versatile.Caine123 wrote:I have to admit that rp is still lost in the past time. To say that this is not impressive coding is a bit of a rude and disrespectful thing.
And yes i agree V2 seems rushed release, GUI is acting weird sometimes (v1 not)
