if super8 or any synth, was attractive and useful, if it's the only way, you do what you have to.

using reaktor is different to other synths and yes, it annoyed the crap out of me when i first started using it and had to keep referring to the manual just to save...
but then it's just like anything, it becomes natural.

And therein lies the rub Vurt. With everything that I already own, plus having Reaktor where I can build any ensemble I want already, S8 is about as attractive to me as a burnt piece of toast.

Of course I get that some people like burnt toast.

Thanks. That aside, I don't really understand how we got into the whole SynthEdit versus Reaktor thing in the first place. I mean the one has nothing in common with the other other than they both ultimately end up making musical sounds. Or of course unmusical if you're so inclined that way.

But this is typical KVR. We go into tangents that have nothing to do with the actual subject.

And I'm not exactly sure what that is either.

its not the one step, its having to install TWO extra pieces of software just to run one synth.

That's my whole point. You can just download and install Tyrell N6 for free which in my opinion blows away Super 8 and start making music or you can sign up for an N.I. account, download and install Native Access, download and install Reaktor player then pay for and download and install Super 8.

As I have said Super 8 isn't a bad synth but taken in context with other options it begins to pale. But if people prefer the sound of Super 8 and are willing to jump through the hoops then more power to them. No one is telling anyone not to buy Super 8 we're simply pointing out that there are alternatives worth checking out especially if you're new to the scene and don't already have the required N.I. software installed. I'm a huge fan of N.I. but I think they just phoned this one in and went for low hanging fruit.
