So far there is nothing that would make me upgrade. But I'd like mpe for the synclavier, dx7, sem and synthi. That and anipgraded 2600 might get me on board. I have a feeling any other new one at this point likely won't interest me.

Different waves for the OSC,
PWM on the saw wave in one position
Multistage env for pitch/vcf/vca shaping. Not just a simple adsr

Alpha junos can have a very unique sound due to the above stuff.

My absolute favs in the V collection are the SQ80, DX7 V and the OB XA V.
CZ101, Synclavier, E-MUlator V and the Fairlight are really nice as well. I love to load in my own sampleset in the last two, very cool.

I kinda wish they'd let us know. Was considering buying Minifreak while it was on sale, but didn't want to pay just to have to pay for it again if I want to update to V10, assuming it will come out near the end of the year like everyone expects it to.
not letting people know what they're doing is their ENTIRE jam. Like, these intro offers for individual softsynths etc, sales on V collection, full bundles that weren't there until they were ... the whole thing seems to be "get people on the best deal you can, drop the price later to squeegee up some customers you missed on the first sale, then bundle everything together into a cheaper deal than your early adopters got"

I'm not complaining exactly, I've gotten some great deals over the years, but it's ALWAYS been cheaper later at some point.

The one thing to note is that they DO always end up bundling everything into V and FX collection versions - only pigments and spark aren't part of it yet.

I'm assuming Acid V will be in 10. I am actually still on 8 and likely waiting for 10 unless they run another deal like they did a couple months ago where Acid V was free with an upgrade to 9.

The Jupiter is good too. I mean all of them are good but the Jupiter stands out.

I actually owned an ESQ-1 back in the day and SQ-80 V is almost perfect. I loaded up some old SYSEX dumps on it and they were perfect. Agree with you, it's my favorite in V Collection.

Lots of people archived the original SQ-80 and ESQ-1 builtins and Voice Crystals. Very easy to find online.

yeah I got all those banks for the CMI, ensoniq, dx7 and even the e-mulator :) they can all load in OG patches, totalling in many thousand patches/presets. Really nice that you can do that and also use your own samples in them.

Totally. Arturia really did a great job there.

Following! I only purchased the V Collection a few weeks ago so I'll still need some time before wanting to update but Arturia really has great material here.

Sorry for going a bit off-topic, but I am actually waiting for KeyLab MK3 keyboards (not the Essential MK3, which is already out). It will be interesting to see any improvements and additions regarding Analog Lab V (or instruments/effects in general) and KeyLab MK3 integration.

Post

Are they revving the KeyLab? I have a Mk II and it's awesome.

I was thinking in the same direction. The MK2 is now 4 years old and Analog Lab and synths therein are moving on. Several of the Arturia's synths are now MPE capable, so at least the new MK3 should get polyphonic aftertouch. Also considering the upcoming Korg Keystage which has a polyphonic aftertouch (MIDI 2.0) key bed.

Considering synths....nobody mentioned the Kurzweil K2000 with its VAST synthesis engine. It is from 1991 and a classic synth found on many records.

Mk3 Essential has been out for a while. Small improvements but basically the same product. And no polyphonic aftertouch. You want aftertouch? Grab your big bag of $$$ and go find the Keylab.

I also have the MK2 and I love it as well. However, MK3 is due considering it's been 5 years since MK2 was released and also because they released Essentials MK3 earlier this year.

Polyphonic aftertouch would be cool (though not necessary), but I am mainly looking for better and bigger display, better quality knobs/faders/buttons and an improved layout and general integration. It may not happen, but let's see what they bring to the table. Pretty sure it will be more value compared to NI Kontrol MK3 keyboards, as it was the case with MK2s.

I've been waiting so long for a 88 hammer-action keys controller-only option with PolyAT and MPE compatibility. Mostly hoping for Arturia to step in.
Lack of poly-expression in the new Arturia lineup would be such a disappointment for me, since they're finally making their plugins MPE compatible, and Fatar is finally producing those new keybeds.
I was relieved by the news about the new Kontrol S88 MK3 but I'd much rather get a Keylab88 MK3, since I have zero interest in NKS.
