And thank you too glurgle to for the nice Midi filter plugin i requested,
and also UplandToys for making Ballseq, which is amazing (grab it here : http://www.upland.no/software.html).

I still don't use a lot midi plugins, because Live is my main host at the moment, and is only ok with his own midi plugins, but when i mess up things with Ext, they are great !

BTW : is tere any plugin i can insert before recording for automatic quantization of the notes i'm playing ?
I think one soma's plugin did this, but i tried it and it was doing too many tings at once and i got lost... Thanks

As ABleton Live is still a bit tricky to use midi plugins, and as i went back reading Ext's manual yesterday, i was wondering :
I rade that we could edit some Ext files using wordpad, in order to make it multioutput. I was wondering if it woudl be possible (dangerous ?) to edit this file inorder to delete every audio output,and take only one single midi out, in order to make it seen as a midi plugin in Live ?
Did anyone alrady tried this ? Does it make sense ? Could it solve ABleton's bad handling of midi plugins ?

tried it, doesn't work.. you can get a midi-only eXT VSTi using this. copy and paste the energyXT.dll and name it "eXT_MIDI.dll", then open a text-editor insert the following and save it as "eXT_MIDI.ini" in your windir (e.g. "c:\windows")

but live 6 doesn't recognize the midi-output of the VST until there's at least one audio out. and you still have to use it as a VSTi or FX in a normal track, you still can't drop 3rd party VST midi fx to the slot like you can do with the built-in plugs.

Unless you want to control Operator, impulse, simpler or sampler, just put the VST and the midi effect inside XT, right?
