Anyone found how to get a cpu % meter? I can pull up the graph, but just wondering if there is numeric display as well.

How is this even possible? Given that it was designed for Live I wonder how it could control Bitwig. The Mantra wrote: -PXT general (the basic push script) works fine in BW

Great Feedback MantraThe Mantra wrote:First thing I did this morning is DL Bitwig demo. The installation was smooth and fast.
Initial impressions after 30 min with BW:
-It did not recognize my remote sl which is disappointing (ended up w/generic midi controller)
-PXT general (the basic push script) works fine in BW
-A quick browsing of the devices sound good (better than Live IMHO)
-The GUI feels real smooth when things move around. Its hard to describe but things load and move across the screen in a smooth way kind of like an Ipad.
-Komplete 9 ultimate seems to work, although I didn't try every single plugin.
-This Daw is NOT a live clone. I have been with Live since V5.0 and while I was able to get things going and play around, I don't feel like I know Bitwig just because I know live (the learning curve looks shallow though).
Overall It looks promising but i don't have time to give BW a serious look until later. The daw feels good enough that I can say that I would buy it if It was fully compatible with Push (PXT general is nice but only gives you basic features), or I didn't own Push
I personally think that creating a deep and thorough Push Controller Script for Bitwig would be a perfect opportunity for a third party developer. Many people want it and the Bitwig Team may be too busy for a while to come up with one...
I guess we will see what happens over the coming months...
Cheers,
Tom

The DSP bar at the top is the CPU meter, it also has I/O meters. This is covered in the manual, I'm just reading through it now.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Anyone found how to get a cpu % meter? I can pull up the graph, but just wondering if there is numeric display as well.
Someone asked about the keyboard earlier - it's caps lock to play notes with your keyboard.

-Jesse Terry, project manager and one of the designers behind Ableton’s Push
PXT-General provides functionality that is very similar to Push’s Note Mode in Live with access to all of the Scale Types you’re used to, In Key and Chromatic options and 4ths and Sequent note layouts.
PXT-General includes some additional features that are useful for playing instruments such as:
User Scale Types - Five easy-to-edit Scale Types are accessible in addition to the standard Scale Types.
Add Note Options - Allows the Pads to play up to three notes each, which makes playing Chords and Octave Stacks easier.
Learn Buttons - The Buttons to the right of the Pads can play Chords or Sequences of up to 16 notes each that can be easily Learned/assigned via playing notes from the Pads.
Touch Strip Type Setting - Allows the Touch Strip to be used for Pitch Bend or as a Mod Wheel.
Aftertouch Type Setting - Allows you to choose the type of Aftertouch (Channel or Polyphonic) the Pads will send.

Yeah I see that, but haven't found an actual % number.virtualmark wrote:The DSP bar at the top is the CPU meter, it also has I/O meters. Hey folks,
Well, I've been testing the demo here as well.
So far, so good. No crashes or anything like that.
The only thing I really didn't like so far is that Bitwig's browser doesn't separate my vst effects from my vst instruments. So, I ended up with a huge unorganized list of plugins, which is definitely not good.
Anyone having the same problem?
My main DAW is Studio One, and I like the way it automatically separates effects from instruments in the browser and how it gives several browsing options.

yea, i was hoping they would leave in symlink/shortcut support like ableton has, makes it way easier to have all my vst's organized the way I like. Right now it just ends up a cluttered mess

Initial impression is I'm loving the design and workflow....seems intuitive. It's a got a Maschine 2.0 feel in places. Pity the launch price couldn't be more aggressive.
Switching between my VSTs pretty much causes a plugin crash everytime. I then get a message that the audio engine needs restarting. Not sure how to do that so have to restart bitwig to get audio back. NB) This is with "Independent processing" enabled.

1.) How can I preview notes as I use my arrow keys on the keyboard to move them around in the piano roll? I know ableton lets me do this
2.) The piano roll def has more potential.. they should have made it more like FL Studio.

First real buglet.
Neither AD nor EZD can drop in midi their drum patterns to it's arrange space here. AD shows a ghost clip but letting it go does nothing. EZD shows nothing but a no-drop mouse cursor.

Yeah i haven't quite figured out how I am supposed to organize my VSTs and presets yet. I don't see a specific User preset area, but I guess you just make you're own in the "Music" tab? I'm not sure, I need to read the manual a bit on the browser.RafaelMorgan wrote:Hey folks,
