It's going to sound different, they're not using the same method.

Yes, I saw that video, thanks; MetaSynth and weird PS plug-ins at the ready:)
But if I were to, say, buy one of your Serum libraries, Simon, could I drag its wavetables into Falcon? I don't own Serum.

Is there a program/plugin that uses the same method as Falcon? That would be interesting. What I like about Waves Codex is that it converts any wav-file to a wavetable. Maybe UVI could implement it in version 1.1
Could I also use AudioTerm to make wavetables for Falcon?

I had the exact same behaviour, but in machfive 3 (up to date). Pc, w764, single screen. I was wondering if they corrected the bugs with falcon, that answers my question !rustman wrote:I noticed on my Win7-64 machine in Cubase 8 that selecting "Fit Screen Size" doesn't go fullscreen (Like say, Fabfilter ProQ 2 does). It is about 1 1/2" short vertically, and about 1/2" too wide on my 27" monitor. I wanted to ask here first if anyone else is seeing this before I submit it to UVI. I have a slightly convoluted 3 monitor setup, as I'm using ATI graphics cards, and they don't do non-viewport monitors beyond 2 out of the box. I say this because maybe the problem is only happening with this hardware setup. Likewise, maybe it's Cubase 8.0.3 64 that doesn't like it. The "big" size is actually taller, but comes up about 4" short on the width.
Anyone?
This thing is honkin' btw.![]()
Edit: regarding fit screen size: if I drag it so that it is centered, only the white frame borders go off screen, so width-wise, it actually is full screen (it just doesn't snap like it should).
I also noticed that it takes about 10 tries to grab the dividers between the center frame and the left (or right) side panels to resize them horizontally. The drag icon is practically impossible to make appear for more than a split second. All of this is minor, but I think it should get a look IF it's not just specific to my machine.

In the 100+ patches I made for the Falcon factory library there are about 40 patches which use the WT synth, and 40 wavetables I made with Serum are embedded in those patches, so you already have a lot to get you going and the Falcon library includes dozens of more wavetables and single cycle waveforms.David wrote:Yes, I saw that video, thanks; MetaSynth and weird PS plug-ins at the ready:)

the more i watch the videos online the more i think it's a bargain...... i have either way too many synths but + the $100 voucher it's more of a bargain but how is the quality of the Wavetable synthesis? i guess it's not comparable with Serum? the demos i listened so far are not that clean sounding from Falcon. im not much interested in VA/FM as i got enough other awesome vsts for it.
i just wonder if you can combine maybe wavetable synthesis with granular synthesis?
and does Falcon cover ALL which alchemy 1 covered? granularwise, i dont use VA and resynthesize in alchemy. which sucks in alchemy is that you have no wavedisplay at the same time while adjusting lfos etc.
can you e.g. also RANDglide, Hold the LFO's in Falcon? i use this a lot for soundscapes or freezing sounds then layer.
if those options from the pic are there then i guess imma buy it now and test it, if i dont like it i can sell it anyways i hope

You can mix all oscillators. You can add as many as you want.Caine123 wrote:the more i watch the videos online the more i think it's a bargain...... i have either way too many synths but + the $100 voucher it's more of a bargain but how is the quality of the Wavetable synthesis? i guess it's not comparable with Serum? the demos i listened so far are not that clean sounding from Falcon. im not much interested in VA/FM as i got enough other awesome vsts for it.

Regarding Alchemy Granular parameters, I would say yes, but Simon would probably know better
RandGlide could probably be achieve using the Random LFO with a smooth time and/or Drunk mod source.
For LFO holding which you can toggle, this could done using a script that would generate random MIDI CC sequence and you just implement an Hold button on it.

I watched a you-tube video where someone goes trough default patches and i must say they sound impressive. The thing i´m a bit aware of is still that i can´t demo (i have a feeling this will cost some sales) it and that it looks that i have to go trough a lot of folders, sub-folders and sub-sub folders etc. to achieve complex patches so that it gets complicated like using several different instruments for one sound.
But since i have a lot problems with Kontakt 5 Player and some third party libraries and wanted to buy the full Kontakt i think this is the first real competition to it.
I really like that it doesn´t come with a bloated size of samples i might never use.
I doubt it can read EXS files?!
I still have to see more videos where people go trough patches and break them out to see what´s happening.
I have the feeling i will buy it on the last day of intro sale (or before the best service Halloween vouchers expire) or i will get nightmares
.
But how someone said already.... in a worst case a resell could save my life when i´m dissapointed and after the intro phase you will loose nothing

Bravo to Olivier for the Saturday support.otristan wrote:Contact me by PM with your issue.Karten wrote:Just purchased and already having problems with the iLok license manager installation.

Fortunately, I was able to fix the problem on my own. Now, let's get the bird installed.

No one was more skittish about purchasing without a demo than I was. (MY God what if it doesn't work?) But I had faith that if there were any problems the company would be there for me.Cinebient wrote:I watched a you-tube video where someone goes trough default patches and i must say they sound impressive. Long story short, works great and worth every penny. This may very well be the synth of the year. For all practical intensive purposes, this is a bottomless pit modular where the sky is the limit. If you can't come up with interesting, usable sounds with this thing you're simply not trying.
Two thumbs up and a 5 out of 5 stars.
And I am very picky.
