And because of the custom Macro/interface design, the new lua scripting, new library export, new wavetable synth, new resonant filter, it's totally worth the upgrade.

No, and in general useful demonstration ofcourse, but if just about sound result, well, some subjective preferences.

I was only joking - some of these vids are just demonstrations on how to use the WT editor and how the sonic results are, others show fully programmed patches with music/impros.c_voltage wrote:Sampleconstruct wrote: 10 seconds at least![]()

Yes the bug is still there, it's probably a Hypersonic bug and nothing to do with the license. Don't know if you are aware but the bug doesn't actually require you to load 2 instances, the fact is the addons use functionality that is already built into Hypersonic so if you save out the presets from the second instance as fxps they load back into Hypersonic and play fine even without needing 2 instances. They don't show the fancy addon graphics but seem to sound the same, load the same wavetables and fx etc (at least I have done this with all US1 presets - wasn't interested in the others anyway)PAK wrote:No need for miracles. If you open a second instance, of Hypersonic 2, all expansions already unlock. IE The first instance retains limitations. Any instance, beyond the first, opens everything. It's a well known "feature" which has been there since Hypersonic 2 was launched, afair.Compyfox wrote:I hope you do believe in miracles...aMUSEd wrote:It's the fact that there was no warning of this change in licensing that is most annoying, had I known it would nuke Hypersonic I would have held back from jumping on it straight away.
I have suggested that they compensate Hypersonic users by opening up the addons as well.
The HALion 5 replacement license has been confirmed to activate Hypersonic 2. But I have no idea if the replacement license manages to carry over this "bug". It should, but it's something someone with the new license would have to confirm through testing.

Re-synthesizing/wave-tabling a trill texture played on my soprano sax with HALion 6, applying LFO modulation to formant shift, tweaking things on the fly. It's recommended to experiment with the Window Type depending on the source one is re-synthesizing, for this sound the Blackman setting produced the smoothest results, as the "air" included in the sax sample wasn't so pronounced (resulting in high frequency partials which sounded rather synthetic).

Today was the time to learn the Macro interface design in Halion 6, the learning curve was a bit steep but after a while I got the hang of it.
A custom Halion 6 pad sound with a custom Macro interface with 12 Macros and 2 wavetable displays, the two wavetables involved where extracted from re-synthesized speech samples.

When I installed Halion 6 (upgrade from Halion 5) I saw a file named "Additional Content" and in that file "VST Sound" with 126 objects in it.
I checked the installed "VST Sound" file on my HD and it only got 104 objects.
Did anything go wrong in the installation or am I supposed to install the one with 126 objects some how?
I have 3631 sounds in Halion 6, but I have read that some have 4904 and even more.
Anybody who can answer what the Additional Content is about?
I have posted in Steinberg forum but no answer. Did not install Halion Sonic 3, is it adding sounds in Halion 6? Thanks!

I'd like to know exactly what should be there too.

Video with a fresh Halion 6 patch which combines a re-synthesized/wave-tabled piano string sound with multi-sampled, granular piano strings - (piano strings hit with a pencil, sequence of irregular repetitions on each string) - this patch has a custom Macro interface, the Macros and the modulation wheel were automated in LogicX.

I just made this little tutorial, as so many folks have asked for it, explaining the basic functions of the wavetable synth, re-synthesizing a violin and a waterphone sample.

Hello everyone. I thought this may be of interest.
I posted a video on my YouTube channel, messing around with HALion 6. In the comments, I got into a discussion about how good HALion 6 is but it would be even better if they implemented an FM engine. Someone replied that the idea is on the table.
Sure enough, over at the Steinberg forums, Senior Marketing Manager Matthias Quellman said: "FM is also on our list. For H6, however, we first decided on the Wavetable synthesis." He also said: "And that will be exactly our approach. When FM synthesis comes into HALion, it will not be an emulation of existing technologies and concepts, but the HALion response to FM synthesis, as we do with Granular and also with the new Wavetable concept."
That's translated from the German by Google Translate.
I think this is exciting news!
