Wusik Beta Testing (new installers, new Wusik EVE V5 and other products updates)

OK, just installed the Wusik EVE Engine, and all worked as expected (no sounds picked to install). I am downloading the full 15 GB installer to test it.
Regarding volumes. The master volume should be ideally placed at 12 o'clock (in the middle position). However, I am forced to keep it almost at the minimum, because EVE has such an exaggerated gain. Each layer should be lowered bt at least 16 dB. If you do that, even with the layer volume for each layer at 0, we could maybe use the Master Volume if not at the middle position, at least near that. In my opinion, of course, What do you guys think?
Still seeing the Multi Presets folder among the Presets folder (although it seems that now the Multis are NOTY duplicated (at least the "proper" Multi Folder was empty). So, I went to the Presets folder and deleted the Multi folder. It doesn't appear anymore.
Now, some problems I found with the Multi:
1. It always assumes as the name (when we choose "Save As") the name of the First preset load. Why? And in the description, again appears the name of the first preset. Again, I don't understand why. Should appear empty, ar at least a generic description like Empty Multi, or something. The same way, the default name should be something like Multi Init.
2. Each preset (instance) loads in Omni Channel. I already suggested that each preset should load with the MIDI channel corresponding to the instance number assigned. We will most likely use Multis to work with EVE (or the other synths) in multi-timbral mode, so, the option to give a different channel to each instance is the one most likely to be wanted. Therefore, I see no reason why each time we load a new instance, we should need to open the MIDI channels control to change the MIDI channel.
3. Don't know why, but my Multi test first instance became muted. I checked everything, and I see no reason why it shouldn't be playing. And this leads to another problem: Let's say I want to just remove THAT instance - I found no option to remove just one instance. It's all or nothing. We should have a way to delete each instance separately.
4. If we start to play and EVE is still loading the Multi, it's almost certain that we get hanging notes (it's happening to me all the time). A "kill all sounds" (panic) buttons is very much needed. Right now, I have to de-instantiate EVE to shut it.
5. It would also be good if we were able to reorder instances (there are lots of reasons why this could be handy)

Fernando,
Using the panic button already there (Click on upper right logo and panic), is this not killing hung notes in the multis?
Got to say your feedback on the multi functions is extensive.

Or right click the logo for direct panic.
I will read all your comments in a while, adding the new user folder code now...

Ahhh, some presets have key velocity to frequency set. Maybe I will remove it, as it could be confusing for someone starting just now. To remove that just click the filter name and options. It's there.goldglob wrote: Thu Nov 29, 2018 4:31 am Reminder: The Multi filter doesn't work unless I re-place it then re-load it. And: The F/P (Filter/Pitch) tooltip....text is truncated.
As for the text truncated, it seems that one of the fonts the skin is trying to use doesn't exist in your system. Should I bother on installing fonts? I don't know if its easy or not, need to check.
The skins tries to load the following fonts, left to right.
Century Gothic;Tahoma;Verdana;Arial

Going thru the rest of Crisis GM
1/15 Church Bells distorted but way worse in TX16, and TX16 dumps the scale to one note across the keyboard.
1/76 Recorder more distorted than TX16 and missing the tremolo effect. Pan also quite different.
1/116 Castanets in TX16 dumps the scale again, but works fine in EVE.
1/126 Car Engine sounds about like my 2001 Kia trying to start.
1/127 Laughing dumps scale in TX16 and works in EVE…Probably should stick to problems specific to EVE..
2/80 Ocarina, missing the mild tremolo present in TX16.
To this point, a couple random crashes while changing fonts and a hung note (Rt click on logo to the rescue), but can’t duplicate.
2/127 Screaming Sounds like my wife when she opened our last electricity bill.
4/79 Big difference in quality. TX16 presents with a spatial almost chorus effect while EVE sounds dry mono.
Everything else works in the Crisis bank. Some really powerful patches in there. I didn’t A/B all of them, only when there seemed to be a problem in EVE, but overall noticed often very different presentations regarding pan, volume, effect presence. 4/79 is a good example.
Will move on to the effects section. Goldglob and Fernando tearing up the multis.
Cheers, JohnK

Having the first instance deleted is not possible, as its the actual plugin, while the others are extra instances loaded to memory. Making the MIDI Channels in order is a bit tricky, as most people will just layer one preset after the other, and will get confused on why the other instances are not playing. Maybe an extra option in the global menu that you select and would do just that, I will see now. Also the ordering of instances, I will see about that. Already did several fixes, soon new files.

Hmmm... Here is an idea, that's probably stupid, but nevertheless:WilliamK wrote: Thu Nov 29, 2018 7:19 pm Having the first instance deleted is not possible, as its the actual plugin, while the others are extra instances loaded to memory.
What about creating a Multi mode that is actually an empty and invisible instance (kind of fake, or muted instrument, invisible, that would work just as a handling instrument), and then load ALL instances as extra?
I have no idea if it's possible, but that would probably solve those problems about the names, the first instance suddenly becoming silent, comment box, etc. It would also make it easier to reorder instances, changing MIDI channels, delete instances, etc.

No, is not a stupid idea, I was wondering on that too.
Maybe tomorrow I do that, is easy, just a lot of typing and organizing. I will still upload the new file now, so you can test the other stuff. I will also work on the plugin database, instead of the current folder system for vsts... just like P2000 and SQ200 uses (I will copy and paste).

- Improved the Multi Instances code.
- Added to Multi Instance: Move Instance Up / Down.
- Added to Multi Instance: click MIDI Channels, new option there, saved as global: Auto Increment MIDI Channels
- Removed presets/multi folder from the installer.

Now, the multi-instances. I'm thinking we need some sort of message there like Start and Close. EG: you load EVE, you click Multi Instances, it will show just one thing: Start or something like that. Once you select it will add the first instance and unload the preset from the master code, so it no longer plays anything. From now on only the extra instances will load presets and play. And maybe instead of Remove All Instances we could have something like "Close Multi Instance"? Can you guys give me some ideas? Thanks.

Yes, the "Close Multi Instance" seems a clear message to me. It seems you forgot an important thing - the possibility to remove just one instance (select instance and have a "Delete Selected Instance" or "Remove Selected Instance" command).WilliamK wrote: Thu Nov 29, 2018 8:32 pm Now, the multi-instances. Regarding the new Multi: Why not have an Empty Multi Template ready, and when we select "Create New Multi Instance" or 2Launch Multi Instance" it loads that Empty Multi Template, with the Plug-In instance invisible and the first slot already filled with an Empty (silent) Preset? That seems more intuitive to me, and less prone to errors.

On the new folders expansion, this is a big help to gain resources resources.
Couple things. The filter for sfz files seems to not work, and there was an option to name the collection addition that is not there now.
Was wondering if expanding the locations for vsts is in the works or if that is something that would cause problems.
