Falcontinuum is pretty quiet and only has 150 registered users on the forum:rasmusklump wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2019 1:53 pmWhy a third place ? We have already KVR and FalcontinuumHanz Meyzer wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2019 12:18 am Hey,
what about starting a discord server, topic FALCON ? I guess that could be inspiring, motivating and also helpful...
But then some of the geniuses should run it, like sampleconstruct or evildragon.
I simply created a server, invitation link here: https://discord.gg/gXW6ghv
Please tell me, if you want to be admin.

It is a chat, not a forum. It is not the same. Chat is almost as fast as speak. A not so frequently visited forum is very slow, and this slowness might be frustrating, if you have immediate questions, for instance. Please think about it, before questioning such idea. You also do not need to join it, if you do not like it, you are not forced to.
Facebook basically is a wall of nonsense mix of commercials and bravado.

Falcon has always looked interesting but watching guys try to make sounds in it in YouTube, I feel like the user interface could be better and smarter. It's hard to see exactly what's going on without opening many pages. I haven't actually used it myself.

It’s hard to make everything happening on a single page also. Many youtubers are really bad at showing tutorials. Many!
Take a look at Dan Worrall’s tutorials for Falcon (they are on YT) and compare them with a tutorial in which the same Dan Worrall makes patches for Alchemy (another complex synth, with fixed architecture).
See how synthesis can be approached in a smart and elegant way and if you’ll have the same opinion about Falcon after, then you’ve seen the best and there’s no way someone elese will show you a better way to “click” with the instrument.

The user interface is extremely logical and simple, even though there is a lot of it.
A "patch" is a collection of parts. Each part has a program, each program has multiple layers. Each layer can have multiple keygroups. A keygroup can be a sample, synth, wavetable etc. Each level can have effects and modulation.
As an example breakdown, consider a strings and piano patch. Strings and piano are each their own part. In the piano program you might see compression and eq. In the piano layers you might find different mic samples. In the piano keygroups you would see actual note samples.
As a beginner with Falcon it clicked immediately for me, this is an instrument I didn't know I had been looking for!

Try toggling the octave button. That should help.

Actually "Octaves" set to on introduces more harmonics than left to off.otristan wrote: Mon Nov 18, 2019 2:57 pmTry toggling the octave button. That should help.

Purple circled means that there is either a modulation or a MIDI learn on those
