The Hyped-recompile is showing 15% loading of CPU with all 10 bands running in Phase-Linear mode.

All filters QL 5 on the 10-band, which would correspond to a hypothetical QL 6 on the 3-band. 44.1 kHz SR,

I don't quite get dropouts at QL 6, but it sounds like a steam locomotive chugging away.. So that is not for realtime use.

ASIO buffers are 1024 samps into a MOTU 2408mkIII with PCI-424 interface. 3 GHz P4 (almost 2-3 years old).

Umm... sorry that was the 10-band, same compile as the distribution.

The 3-band hyped-compile shows the same 15% loading with all 3 bands running in Phase Linear mode, at least one of which is M/S, and all at QL 5.

No dropouts here...

I half suspect, although I cannot prove it, that Intel plants speed-bumps in the way of AMD processors. They have been warring for years now.

All of my compiles are done with the Intel Reference Compiler, and Intel Libraries.

I have AMD libraries now, but an AMD specific compiler will cost me $2,500 USD. Any volunteers?

Yes? I'm just wondering about your restults there, and hoping it'll be possible to use the plug at 1024 without dropouts.

As I understand it the Intel Libraries that I'm currently using do support MMX and SSM. They are early libraries from back in the days of multiple XEON processors that we were using. The libs do support some degree of MPU optimization.

Newer libs from Intel support more advanced SSE and even more MPU optimizations. I haven't braved trying these on the world just yet... and who knows what they will do to AMD chips?

But here too, it will cost me $200 for these newer libs... anyone care to volunteer the funds?

Sure, if you take care of my 5.1 monitoring upgrade and the new VSL material due out in december ;)

Well, Markus... nothing ventured, nothing gained. I still haven't heard from you about this experiment...

Well if you have a build fixing the 'premature dropouts', I'll give it a try!

I can't know if it fixes them or not, since I don't have dropouts here with or without the Hyped build.

Only you can tell us what the results are...

In short, you need my mail addy (mailed you yesterday to inquire about the 3 band build)? On the way then.
