I've been battling with Synthedit to create a 4 layer Rompler/VA synthesizer hybrid. I'd say it's almost finished, created in a 27" monitor with 2560 x 1440 resolution, it may show small in 4K monitors or <24" ones.
Anyway, it uses soundfonts as Roms. It's a typical 4*[osc>filter>amp>pan]>fx with just a chorus and a stereo delay.
Its name comes from the Yamaha EX7 as i started the project with a 3 Rompler + 1 VA parts but later i switched the idea into something near to a Roland D50, but in a more useful way (unison, Pwm, more waveforms...)
Well... This is it.
MVEX7
It's a universal VST3 plug-in, MacOS & Windows compatible. You may need to install Synthedit in windows to see its interface. I included some presets but the files location could generate conflicts, just use your own Soundfont and decide...

A single element off the 4 MVEX7 has.

Hey,

We've been doing a lot of experimental sound design lately, diving into the weird and wonderful. Today, we want to share something truly unique from our archives – a free sample pack that's been waiting for its moment for about 15 years. It's quirky, it's raw, and it definitely delivers some unexpected sonic textures.

The story behind this pack is a bit... unusual. Back in 2011, while deep in a studio session processing some audio material, a forgotten condom somehow ended up on the mixing desk. Now, in a studio environment, you tend to think a little differently than if you found it on your nightstand, right?

We started thinking about the history of instruments – how gut strings were once made from animal intestines. This sparked a crazy idea: what if we stretched the condom, plucked it, and hit it like a deep bass string?

And to our surprise, there was sound!

It created a wonderfully resonant, almost organic "thwack" and a deep, rubbery sustain. Triggered by this unexpected discovery, we took the experiment further. We stretched the condom over a long cardboard tube (the kind that wrapping film comes on), which significantly enhanced the resonance and added a beautiful, earthy depth.

From there, we spent hours pulling, twisting, plucking, and hitting the stretched condom in countless variations, exploring every possible sound it could make. From hard, percussive snaps to deep, droning bass tones – it was all there.

We recorded everything meticulously and carefully processed these raw sounds into a collection of unique samples. We even made a full track purely from these "condom sounds" back then!

For 15 years, this experimental gem sat in our archives, tucked away. We often wondered if anyone else had ever thought of something similar, but it seems this particular sonic exploration remained uniquely ours.

Now, we believe it's time to share this bizarre and inspiring sound source with the world. It’s perfect for adding really unique percussion, eerie drones, or just some truly wild textures to your tracks.

We've put together a small, free sample pack for you to download and experiment with.

We'd love to hear what you create with these sounds! A free sample pack and a short demo song you find here:

Anything like reason's Kong drum sampler with pads that can load samples and has effects? Haven't seen any with the same reliability imo. Free, but simpler than triaz and ni battery. like "Just a sample" -vst free but with multiple samples you can keymap would be just nice.
