I've just realized I've been pronouncing contradictory notions. I'm complaining that TH1 is the only modeler that I have that aliases but I bought TH1 because it can create sounds no other amp modeling plugin can make. I shouldn't be complaining about the aliasing in TH1 but rejoicing about its uniqueness.
The above was one of those unfunny jokes.

I think it's simply showing that we always want the best. And the best should be without any fault. Unfortunately most things are not perfect and have room for improvement. I was told that Overloud is working on some very cool improvements. And they will make this great plugin even better. But I'm enjoying it right now and I'm working with it right now with great results.Genetic_Junk wrote:The above was one of those unfunny jokes.

of the various big heavy tube amplifiers in different rehearsal rooms i have had the occasion to play, none was perfect for me, so far. apart from the fact that i couldn't use it very well for amplifying piano and synths.
TH-1, together with my fohhn sub and speakers sounds very, very nice. so, to me, it's further up the road to perfection than some expensive tube gear.

Yes , it should cost just about 4999€.gchirag wrote:No complaining about the price.
I get fare more tones with TH1 then a single marshall head so the price of TH1 is actually much lower then it should be.
Its even cheaper than all the hardware it emulates, and you save lots of money on roadies , studio time etc.

personally I refrained from buying TH1 even though the price was cut because, in the end, I figured it was hissing too much on high gain settings. And also because I already have a real amp, lots of stomps, a pod XT, pod farm, lots of freeware,
and that my main problem really is song writing
what's the point of having a kickass guitar sound if you don't have actual tunes to play
I'd like to have a brain stimulation plug-in which would turn me into a sate of mind where brilliant kick ass ideas would suddenly pop out of thin air into my head. And also I need a new pair of hands with long and meaty fingers to play an 8 string.

I solved all the hissing problems.
TH1 is kick-ass. I know many people complain about hissing problems when it comes to high-gain tones but that can be solved by noise-gates etc.
Real amps cause hissing and strong noise-gates are required.
I was just messing around with Amplitube Hendrix i got exact hendrix tones but not only that but i stacked up a few fuzz pedals and i got the 1980s Adam Bomb guitar tone.

I love the 80s.
Music was really cool back then. Only diffirence now is that we can get hold of really cool gear but the guys in the 80s knew how to make shit gear sound good.
We have so much cool gear but only some can create the magic.
Look at bands like Ratt they used JCM800 and Rat distortion pedal and that's it.

Guys from Anthrax use Waves GTR3 and some Waves Eq plugins. Those plugins sound hot.
I think TH1 still rules and already famous people are using it. Neil ZaZa is one of them.

When using the Acoustic Guitar Simulator where should it go? I guess wherever I like the sound is best. In the situation where I used it, at the end of the chain was good. But it just seems the logical place would be right at the start of the signal path.

I just bought my copy and I'm loving it. It's a pretty significant accomplishment to get models sounding this nice with such a low CPU footprint. I can have two instances in parallel, each with an amp and two cabs and hardly notice the CPU hit.
I just managed to get a really great clean tone by using the Darkface (set to have more mids and less top than normal) and Top30 (set to be extra bright) together, each using a 57/121 combo on the first cab and a tube condenser pretty far back on the second. It can be a little tricky to set the mics up right in this setup to avoid too much comb filtering, but the result is worth it.
I'm excited to see what future updates will bring. I would have rather had a Dual Rectifier Trem-o-verb than the newer Triple, but with all the possible flavors with the SLR system I shouldn't be complaining.
Things I'd love to see added:
Amps: Diezel (VH-4 or Herbert) or Rivera Knucklehead
Stomps: An analog delay or two, graphic EQ (hear that is already coming), old flanger (an ADA Flanger model would kill)
Spring reverb, maybe multiple models, like a grungy 2 spring model with an input that can be overdriven along with a more refined 4 spring model.
Oh and something else that's fun to try: setup TH1 on a send for vocals - compressor > tape delay > cab w/ distant mic and ambience of choice (or maybe put the compressor at the end). More interesting sounding than just a normal delay and with added depth.

Simon has said few times that more Amp models etc will be added in the future sub releases of TH1.
I have started to understand that even if you use Parametric EQs you still won't get the smooth distortion of a amp. Various amps have various diffirent components so basically Parametric eqs are there to adjust various frequiencies and increase some gain or scoop the mids totally.
