Could that be a Syntheit issue? Are those other plugins also SE?
I wouldn't waste any resources or time on this issue.
The VFX software is flaky at best.

(I'm sure the Mac VST will work just fine, though)

Yes, it would be difficult to debug this.

I've seen this thread. I might experiment with it some time in the future. To be honest, I don't think it is so crucial for the pg-8x as the filter is quite tame anyway, and not really driven into self-oscillation. Nor does it has any non-linearities built in. And, I also think that there are many more things, which might make the sound more accurate.

But, as I said, I might have a look at this in the future.

I don't know. Not every developer reveals what tools they used.
Even if it was a Synthedit issue, there are too many variables (VFX, Apple X11, Mac OSX version, OSX running 32- or 64-bit mode, using a wacky driver for a third-party audio interface, etc etc)

You're wise to just skip it. I'm convinced it's a VFX issue.

I just tried to load it into VFX (Version 2.0 (20101204)) on my MacBook (Lion 64bit). By just changing patches on the GUI, I could not reproduce the problem. However, i have to say, that I have not yet installed any audio or midi device on my Mac. How do you actually route MIDI from some host (say reaper) into VFX and the audio back into reaper?

VFX doesn't allow for Soundflower or any other audio routing / patchbay software. It only plays out of the output device selected in your OSX Sound settings.

Since I can't route the audio the way I want to, I just open a new instance of PG-8X each time. I managed to save two manually-entered patches for PG-8X within VFX, but can't again. I have given up on VFX.

Like I said... waitng for that Mac VST.

I just uploaded the sound banks from Kujashi (aka Armin Kujat aka schiffbauer) into the KVR database. They are definitely worth downloading!!

Enjoy,

Martin

Thanks Martin,
I'll send you a lot of banks of my work the next time for this fabolous synth - right for uploading here...
by the way - my right name is "Armin Kujat"...schiffbauer was the name of my ex-girlfriend, I've logged in here since many years (Kujat-Schiffbauer=Kujashi)....but it's ok...

Fixed.

Just to let everybody know:

When you are loading the patches by Kujashi, or possibly other banks from my webpage, you might get an error message that not all parameters could be loaded.

This is because these banks have been saved with a previous version of pg-8x but don't affect the sound. I removed some 'dead parameters' when I was cleaning up the plugin, and some banks have been saved before that.

In this case, if you just save them again, it should go away when you.

Hi Martin i sent you a message on fb page , was wondering any help how to send you presets that i made in his preset folder since other software still using fxp/fxb format

Ok, Martin.
I finally got my hands on a functional JX8P from eBay, that it is in good shape.
You can finish the Mac version whenever you are ready.
Or maybe you should just release it as a 1.0 version, and issue updates.
TAL-U-NO-LX, the Roland Juno-60 emulation has done the same recently.

I will help you do quality control with an A/B comparison. :)

This is my most anticipated synth of 2012. I'm also looking forward to more sound banks by the guy who did the others.. They are sooooo good! Must have more!! Any news on development ?

Bump.
How goes the Mac VST?
