You are right. Progress is unstoppable. It's just matter of time. But for now, I'm happy enough as owner of Diva. And more then happy about fact, that Diva was created by small independent developer U-He, but not by huge greedy corporation.ttoz wrote:geez when it comes to those comparisons diva starts sounding weirdly digital and not warm again. But ONLY when listening to THOSE examples in the comparison sequence the way it has been made.
But.... But..... compared to after hearing diva then most *every* other plugin sounds digital and cold(er)
so that proves my theory there is always something better and to just be happy with a tool, or not.
when will it end? when the sound is so warm it burns our ears?
I think i'll just be happy to be happy with the way something sounds, and i am happy with the way diva sounds whether it is 100% precise emulation or not...if i am comparing and always looking for something better i won't make any music. Or if i don't accept that the perfect 100% analogue clone is not here yet and continue the quest to find it, then i won't make any music, cause i certainly can not afford a real analogue hardware.
I think any song i have ever written and many say the same about their own music, if were to open it in my host today would tweak it to sound better. and in a years time if i were to open it again i would find a way to make it sound better again.
i think at some point we just have to be satisfied instead of always finding something "better".
Let's stop to look for difference, and start making music with great tools.
I feel pretty covered now with softsynths for comfortable work in the box. Maybe will grab this tiny gritty PPG 3.v, and period...
Btw, can PPG filter be modeled for use inside zebra?
If all modules from diva will go on Zebra, I will be my go to synth.
And with such progress in 5 years it can be the Only One Synth
Less sound sources for choice => faster production.
