something new from NI

I'm not complaining, but this update doesn't hit my interest button. I can see how certain people would be excited, especially if you use Battery.
I have rarely used Battery, and I don't think I've touched it in years. BFD and Studio Drummer do everything I need.
I won't use the new effects as I have UAD-2.
Monark seems more like a throw in because they knew how skimpy K9 was looking.
The piano stuff is not interesting to me as I have plenty of good sample piano sets.
I don't need more crappy string libraries.
So basically, nothing to see here for me. Which is unfortunate, but at least it saves me a few sheckles. I went from 5 to 8. I'll probably go from 8 to 10 or 11.

If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Well yes but the advantage of it being a Reaktor ensemble is we get to take it apart and incorporate bits into other, more complex, ensemblesIngonator wrote:I am a bit disappointed too. Not only about just being another Reaktor ensemble instead of a really new Standalone synth but also about it being another Minimoog clone. It's not that i don't like Minimoog emulations but i was expecting something really new or more flexible (or at least with ADSR envelopes...).Numanoid wrote:Is this all?
So much ado about a new Reaktor ensemble?![]()
Looks like a nice skin job of Charlatan...
Those predicting Reaktor 6 now has egg permanently dripping from their face

Action Strings definitely isn't "crappy". In fact it is extremely usable.SJ_Digriz wrote:I don't need more crappy string libraries.

There is a certain irony here, I still have the original copy of Computer music that reviewed 2 of the very first commercial softsynths - Steinberg Model E and Native Instruments Pro 5 side by side. And now Model E (the first Minimoog emu) is freeware and NI release a Minimoog emu of their own. How the world turns!

The GUI for Monark? Says so in the manual on the last page (Efflam Le Bivic).

Well only to the extent that they are both inspired by the Minimoog interface (as are a gazillion other softsynths)Numanoid wrote:Is this all?

I just see a certain linkage between these ad boisterings
"one synth to rule them all" -> Monark
"John Romero's About To Make You His Bitch" -> Daikatana
When you make those kind of statements, there is a tendency to fall flat on your face, unless you are Joe Namath of course

NI must be dropping all their other synths...Numanoid wrote:

An absurd statement to make at all... but especially for a monophonic synth that cannot apply velocity to cutoff... hehehe

Sorry, don't know - the marketing bullshit didn't mention product release details beyond the next one.dune_rave wrote:This is all marketing bullshit...

I cant believe they used the tagline 'one synth to rule them all' for a monophonic synth...a moog emulation that basic...
