Sounds good.... thank´s! Well, since i have nothing to loose....wagtunes wrote:No one was more skittish about purchasing without a demo than I was. (MY God what if it doesn't work?) But I had faith that if there were any problems the company would be there for me.Cinebient wrote:I watched a you-tube video where someone goes trough default patches and i must say they sound impressive. The thing i´m a bit aware of is still that i can´t demo (i have a feeling this will cost some sales) it and that it looks that i have to go trough a lot of folders, sub-folders and sub-sub folders etc. to achieve complex patches so that it gets complicated like using several different instruments for one sound.
But since i have a lot problems with Kontakt 5 Player and some third party libraries and wanted to buy the full Kontakt i think this is the first real competition to it.
I really like that it doesn´t come with a bloated size of samples i might never use.
I doubt it can read EXS files?!
I still have to see more videos where people go trough patches and break them out to see what´s happening.
I have the feeling i will buy it on the last day of intro sale (or before the best service Halloween vouchers expire) or i will get nightmares.
But how someone said already.... in a worst case a resell could save my life when i´m dissapointed and after the intro phase you will loose nothing
Long story short, works great and worth every penny. This may very well be the synth of the year. For all practical intensive purposes, this is a bottomless pit modular where the sky is the limit. If you can't come up with interesting, usable sounds with this thing you're simply not trying.
Two thumbs up and a 5 out of 5 stars.
And I am very picky.

Any recommendations for the $100 coupon we got from UVI ?

Personally, I would wait to see what dedicated libraries they come out with for Falcon itself and use it for that.paulbreeze wrote:Any recommendations for the $100 coupon we got from UVI ?

Yes, hang tight!paulbreeze wrote:Any recommendations for the $100 coupon we got from UVI ?
No doubt there will be some good deals coming up in the next few weeks. As far as I can see there's no small print that excludes the voucher being used against sale prices ... lets hope

This is exactly what I'm doing. We have 2 months.wagtunes wrote:Personally, I would wait to see what dedicated libraries they come out with for Falcon itself and use it for that.paulbreeze wrote:Any recommendations for the $100 coupon we got from UVI ?

That makes buying Falcon really a bargain when i think about it. The more i watch and hear about it i think it´s really a great competition for Kontakt and Reaktor for a better price, with less bloatware included and a far better looking UI. Only time can tell if it gets a similar amount of great third-party developers on board. Instruments like Emotional Cello are awesome and i would prefer to get those for Falcon in future. Falcon already looks like a better Kontakt 7db3 wrote:This is exactly what I'm doing. A user of my MachFie library Ambient Strings just reported a missing single cycle in my library ambient strings when using it in Falcon, I checked it and it's the only single cycle in that library which is in 24 Bit, the others are in 32 Bit and load fine, so I¿m not sure if this is expected behavior or a bug? I filed a report anyway.

I do have one question after going through the entire manual looking for an answer.
How do you create your own Soundbank or is this not even possible? I'm not finding anything on how to do this.

So it's not a 24-Bit issue, it seems to be related to the length of single cycle waveforms.Sampleconstruct wrote:A user of my MachFie library Ambient Strings just reported a missing single cycle in my library ambient strings when using it in Falcon, I checked it and it's the only single cycle in that library which is in 24 Bit, the others are in 32 Bit and load fine, so I¿m not sure if this is expected behavior or a bug? Easy, just compile everything into one folder with the library name, create subfolder for Programs/Samples (with sample subfolders if you wish) Wavetables/Images (for scripted interfaces and wavetable re-synthesis)) and that's it. As the paths to the assets are relative, the end user will not be confronted with missing file-messages.wagtunes wrote:I do have one question after going through the entire manual looking for an answer.

EDIT:
and set the folder structure up before you start making patches, so that the correct paths are embedded in each patch.
