Hi b3groover,

Yes, that's exciting news indeed. Adding FM Synthesis feature to Halion 6 would be a great update from Steinberg.

Thanks for the heads up.

Cheers,

that statement from Quellmann was in january , they didnt even have done any bugfixes yet . it also has becomes very quiet arround Halion 6 , same as it was with Halion 5 .

dont expect any FM Synthesis Engine with Halion 6 , knowing Steinberg it comes probably not before Halion 6.5 or Halion 7 .

Still no demo? If anyone notices when it gets posted, please let us know!

I'm not expecting it in HALion 6. I assume it will be in the next major update, probably HALion 7.

Track with two instances of H6, both patches are using the wavetable synth, some Macro automation, 100% H6.

Anyone here using halion 6 with Bitwig 2? How are you finding the note expression with vst3?

Is there any interest in Halion Sonic soundsets? It is capable of some great sounds!

Trial to be released in April https://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewto ... 2&t=115256

I'd love to try this but don't want the hassel of trying to get my
Halion 5 license back.

That's how I feel, I put a message in to support, took 3 weeks to get a reply, they told me I don't need my 32 bit Halion at all. I've got a lot of sessions with H5 32 bit in alongside 32 bit only plugins, so they didn't help. Has anyone got around this yet? Steinberg say it's not possible to run both on the same system.

It seems I won't be able to upgrade until I build a 64 bit only system. Given how many 32 bit tracks I've got around, that could be a long time. Listening to the demo's hasn't given me a huge sense of gear lust, I see the mod matrix is still very limited, so perhaps it's not worth the grief. :(

On day one I was ready to upgrade, since then Steinberg have talked me out of it.

It is possible to have both running (I managed to do that). I had to follow some workarounds, but in the end, I got both installed. Also, Steinberg gave me a replacemente license for HALion 5 to allow me to run the 32-bit version (HALion 6 is 64-bit only).

That's great - how did you do it? Is there anything stopping me from just copying the .dll's prior to installation and putting them back afterwards?

My advice: Build a powerful 64bit system to last you for the next century. Run your old 32bit projects in a VM, or dual boot, or bounce to stems and move on.

Your advice for running a plugin is to build a new computer? Even though it's only a year old, it is 64 bit and it's a quad core running at 4.8ghz? Sounds expensive.

Where did you read "new computer" in that quote? :ud: If you consider your current system "a powerful 64bit system", then you've already "built" it.
