Well. Time to get this thread back to what it's supposed to be. Annoying eachother with impolite reviews that are too short to convey any real criticism, but long enough to be (to paraphrase our favorite SW-figure) wroot.

Scamme, Obvious Junetic: Hm. What to think of this? Nicely done. The tremeloed guitar could have been put to more use to create some interest and movement. I feel this is what this piece lack. And the rhythm is not grooving enough to keep me focused. Instrumentals are bitches that way. But no real flaws and nice enough.

The bigest problem is that i'm aware to the lack of interest and movement in my tracks but still keep doing it that way

Call me disingenuous, call me irresponsible, call me insecure. I have been all those things at times in my life. I never thought my little joke would piss anyone off. Well, not until after I posted, and my wife heard it. I played the original versions of both songs by you and Donks' first and I showed her all the pics (yours and my edited cover art). She thought your pictures were totally appropriate in the context of the song you submitted. We both assumed that you were playing a "character." I mean the lyrics, tone and feel of the song are pure egocentric diva. You have lines in the song about how you want:

"A sponsor with a guarantee
A brother who's holding a lot of green
Someone who can donate a G to me
'Cause I need I need I need

A brother who lets me hold the keys
Who don't expect a thing from me
Just wanna see me do my thing
If you can afford me
Come impress me"

(Are those words correct? - the last line could be "Come undress me," but I doubt it.) That's a great lyric and it paints a clear picture of a needy empress in search of a throne. The character rendered in first-person has not achieved the luxury they desire and needs a sugardaddy to provide without quid pro quo. Nice. It's a long way from "Girl From Da Gutter" (your submission from KvR June 2003 Competition: Punk). A long, long way....

Donkey Tugger's song, on the other hand, is clearly about 'one thing only' (there's in in-joke right there!) and it's funny because he too puts the onus in the listener to come to the realization that they do, in fact, want to have sex with the "Donkey Tugger" (who I realize is not exactly the same as the guy who plays Donkey Tugger on the internet.

That's what I interpreted. So I thought putting 'em together would be a lark. Same with the photos. I thought the Maya Angelou and Frank Sinatra bits would compliment nicely as they equally add an extra level to the character commentary. They cut both ways. Maya Angelou even mentions "molestation" by a donkey! And that phone call? That seemed to fit perfectly. Now I see that may have assumed too much.

Upon hearing my mashup, my wife said it sounds like "Lady J" gets the worst of it. I tried to explain that my intention was not insult either artist, but she said when the controversy happens, I'll know why. Frankly, more of your song figures in my mix because it's just plain better (sorry Donks). Your vocals, your music, your mix - you have a lot with which to work.

I posted the mashup here in this thread because the only people who might 'get it' or care would be the other entrants in the contest. I never posted the picture here - like usual, I only posted a link people could follow if they wish. It's not about you personally (which I'm afraid you often conjecture). Even I know enough about women and men to not make blanket generalizations about people or to jump to conclusions about their motives. I belong to no clique and I'm not sure many people would notice if I stopped posting here. This was just a bit of (I thought) harmless fun. And it didn't take that long to make. You ever use Live? It's fast and easy for remixing.

Lady J, you should feel confident that you probably have this contest in the bag because so far your song is the most appropriate, well made, likely "track thats going to secure your inevitable major label record deal." I don't know if you (or anybody else) could possibly be too talented and attractive, or what that has to do with the price of tea in China. If posting pictures of yourself leads to to believe your odds of winning are better, try it. Despite what you might think, your song is still my number one this month and I have always thought you were one of the brightest creative people around here. Your rhetoric and conspiracy theories are as cussed as your signatures, but your music is top notch.

This isn't the first remix I've done of contest entries in the course of the gossip thread. There was "OK Glitchy" where I remixed Mr. Me (he submitted twice and I merged the two versions together) and there was Metdley, a heavy metel medley made from every entrant in the July, 2004 competition. I've also been known to spontaneously remix or collage stuff posted in other threads around KvR and elsewhere. Just ask Wopelka, Vurt, TennesseeVic, Ixox, Scarkord, Pantsdown666, pHz, etc... I'm just not a passive audience member. I hate sitting in front of the TV because I can't interact with it more than changing channels.

I don't think what I did was cruel to either you or Donks, so I don't feel like I need to ask forgiveness. But I do feel bad that I may have hurt your feelings and that poor Rob has to get dragged into it. For those reasons I am sorry. I mean it. I've had my photos, uh, remixed here too (a bit of advice: socks make bad mic spit guards) and I don't mind what people do with or to the things I post on the internet. That's why I post them. They're not me - they're not my property. They're copies of things I made which I gave away to let people do with as they please. The only thing worse than not getting the response I expect is getting no response at all.

I have pulled the link to my dumb mashup, but I'll leave a copy on my server so people can find it if they wish. However, if you really want me to completely pull it down, I will. That's more than I did for the Crapital Records attorney when they sent me the cease and desist letter I posted earlier. I hope everyone involved accepts my sincere best wishes and knows that I meant no harm.
