I completely agree with the above point. IMHO, IKMM is one of the fairest companies in the commercial audio fx market.

If there is something that comes immediately to mind when I think about IKMM (well beside the fact that their software is always late) is how well IKMM treats their customers, how they have a great product selection, and how their products are forward thinking and innovative.

Their StompIO is priced high, but then it is not a mass produced chinese made product. So their costs are quite high as well. You also get a ton of software.

I can't wait for the first reviews to come in (Golden Socket? ManyTone?) and honestly with the latest strike of bad luck I have been having with the Line6 gear and the chinese made X3Live crapping out on me at least once a day, I would rather pay a premium and buy something hand made in italy. But the price has to come down a bit. At 500$, I am a buyer. I don't need any of the added software, I have the whole collection.

For now, X-Gear + FCB1010 + Delta 1010 + The Brick will do the job.

Well in my OPINION your OPINION is balls. RevalverMKII kicks Amplitube's arse - Hendrix's too.

But I use all three. Imagine that?

But yes, IK aren't ripping anyone off as far as I can tell.

Hmmm...weird. You would think they would automate the addition of the download to user's accounts.

Did you shoot em off an email?

What's The Brick? :? :)

Never had any luck getting xgear in my account either. So I changed my password to something I would remember instead of the 6 digit code, now I can't even get into my account at all??!! :( :x

Not sure whats going on with that, but I did email tech support.
Cheers

Here is the blerb form their website
Perhaps the most fully featured piece of studio or stage gear, The Brick does a lot in a single package.

This is a tube mic pre for the studio. With Phantom power, and true transformer output, plus an available gain of +55db, The Brick will handle dynamic mics, consensor mics, and ribbon mics.
A tube mic pre for the stage - with onboard phantom power, you can now use higher grade large diaphram mics on stage. Forget about those long cable runs back to the "house system" or house console, The Brick can run 1000 feet and more without the losses of simple direct boxes.
A tube line driver
A tube instrument preamp for the studio - based on our exclusive ViPRE technlogy.
A tube instrument preamp for the stage.
I can say that this is easily the best investment I made for my ampsim rig, although I didn't pay nowhere near the retail price...

If you can't afford a new unit, try and get a used one if you can find someone willing to part with theirs.

It fattens and give warm to the sound impossible to get with a standard DI. I was at first using a Yahama mixer for my guitar input and always felt that my rig sounded muffled and lacking tone...and now I put the Brick directly in my Line level Delta input, and WOW, sounds like a blanket got lifted off my speakers

Tried ATJHE again, and while I remember it sounding good, it sounded gorgeous with the Brick...this thing is like magic

At 499$ MSRP though I probably wouldn't have bought it to begin with, but now if this unit get stolen, first I kick the thief's ass if I can find him, and if not, I would try to find me a used unit on ebay...if not, I will save and buy a replacement unit. Yes, I like it that much.

I wish you had posted about this thing just a couple hours earlier in my DI thread.

Which BBE unit you ended up getting? DI-1000?

Post

Ya, the one with the Jensen transformer. Its pretty nice. I can't wait to bash someone over the head with it.

LOL!

I was reading your DI thread a couple of minutes ago.

How did you end up connecting it to the Emu? through the XLR Line level input? or the Mic level (which would be too hot)?

Interesting. Has this product been discontinued? I cannot seem to locate it on Ampeg's website.
