Glenn did answer your question about being able to select patches without using the mouse...the answer to that question is YES, there are a bunch of interesting ways to avoid the problem you are describing through MIDI and the powerful new browser.

ASCII patch selection is not directly supported, but you'll see much clearer what we mean about how easy it is to select sounds without the mouse in an upcoming video episode. :-)

I looked and looked, but no mention in the video about the browser how I will be able to swicth presets without using the mouse... :(

Since Omni will have thousands of presets, I'm concerned if it will bring pain to my mouse arm.

That's interesting, but it says nothing about the upgrade from Atmosphere. I'll wait until there is some firm info about the upgrade.

I'm absolutely salivating over this. September 15 can't come fast enough.

True. I'm assuming the more economical thing to do would be buy the price-reduced Atmosphere now and the upgrade to Omni when available - spreads the cost out as well. Hopefully Spectrasonics will announce the upgrade price sometime soon.

I was kind of interested in getting Atmosphere, but I don't want to waste my money if it'd be cheaper just to get Omnisphere.

I've been wondering about the same thing. Would the upgrade price be worth buying atmosphere? I figue I'm going to buy it one way or the other! :D

NOTE: The info at the top of that page (10gb core library) is way wrong. It'll be in the 40gb range and it obviously has a WHOLE lot more than just "pad sounds". :-)

Jeez...dealers can be sloppy sometimes...."SpectrOsonics"! :hihi:

If you don't have Atmosphere yet and have a compatible system, I'd definitely recommend getting Atmosphere at the new reduced pricing.

The official upgrade pricing won't be announced until September, but I can promise that anyone buying Atmosphere now won't be paying more than the total price of Omnisphere - and then you'll end up with two great instruments for the price of one. :-)

That does it for me! :D

Come to me atmosphere!

Yeah, we ran out of time in this particular video to cover that topic.

The way it works is that you can select Browser patches remotely via MIDI messages. There's an up and down arrow in the browser that's MIDI learnable to any controllers, notes or program changes.

As the video shows, the narrowing down the choices is much easier too, so you don't have to do constant mousing work.

Not yet, but it's definitely on my list of places to go for sampling!
I can't wait for Omnisphere. A project I have been working on experienced a setback and will take several months longer than anticipated. I was very disappointed so I made a list of things that were good about the delay. I'm not kidding when I say that for me the number one thing was that while we are waiting to continue Omnisphere will be released and we will get a chance to use it for this particular recording, whereas in the original schedule we would not have been able to. :D
So cool!

Great! Thanks! :)

Is that $279 instead of $299? Or is there a bigger discount somewhere.
Those are the only two numbers I find right off the bat...
