Until they fix the envelopes, the synth is of no use.

I cant see many ppl making banks for Spire this year...at least nothing inspiring. (im sure you will get the standard duplicate trance/dance banks that have already been done in a 20 other synths)

I think they need a rethink for the next product.
dune can't compare quality wise.. dune has a muffled sound and this is a much more powerful and warm sounding synth. Sometimes you pay for what you get in cpu usage, not that spire is worth the CURRENT cpu, but i mean dune uses nothing in comparison and that's my point.. it sounds really weak compared to spire.

Albino does too and albino is one of my favourite synths of all time for it's filler pads.. but i'd never consider using it for a lead or bass.. it just has no power to punch through a mix.

I see many people making inspiring banks this year.
I have to agree regarding the Dune comparison. Dune's filters are a pretty big let down for me. With high resonance and at full cutoff, many of the filters sound extremely low-grade and don't open up completely like other synths.

The more I use Spire, the more I love it. However, the CPU usage needs to at least half before I would consider grabbing a copy.

It reminds me of my Virus TI in many ways. I think it most definitely could be the next Sylenth1 :)

These two points exactly reflect my thought.

Yep, and anyone else who is serious about music.

Out of interest, what's wrong with the envelopes? I'm yet to experience a problem with them myself.

P.S.: The Reverb is really REALLY good! The only other reverb I like this much in a synth is the one in Massive :)

Here's an audio sample of the 12db/oct filter sweeping from the highest cutoff to the lowest with high resonance on 3 synths. I am demoing DUNE and Spire at the moment and own Sylenth1.

DUNE, then Spire, then Sylenth1

Notice the difference? This sort of quality is usually indicative of pretty bad algorithms for the filter or potentially filters than need to be oversampled to sound good (which DUNE's aren't).

That alone makes DUNE a no go for me. Though I do like how tiny the CPU hit is for that synth ;)

I know right! What a surprise that verb is.!!
Totally! The effects section of Spire in general is fantastic.

I dunno' mate.

It's doing the business for me. I'm pleased with the results so far anyway, and it's only a young synth, which means it will be getting better ll the time.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Me too! Spire's FX are some of the best I've used on a soft synths to date.
