Odd, I had that same star and those exact Beatles photos in my studio before the flood.Bombadil wrote: Fri Jul 04, 2025 9:40 pm Took these updated pics tonight. The new Mac Studio and the Novation Launchkey mk IV are there (with my Tele and VOX AC-15).
There's a lot of guitars and other gear not in the pics.

I haven't posted pics in years but here's what my corner of the living-room looks like.
The monitor/speaker stand is simple DIY I made (so that both controllers can be pushed underneath) and so is the "rack installation" for the Radias and Multi/Poly (which I only got a couple of weeks ago).
It really feels everything is in its right place.

(pro-tip) Move to higher ground... OR... balance the environment with a second lava-light on the other speaker, and the "spell" of the wall-art-gravitational-vortex-of-doom will be broken, and your concerns with vanish.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

I made some changes to the eurorack table in my main studio room.

16 inputs and outputs over ADAT just for this one modular station, since I control this rig from Bitwig a lot. Lots more MIDI>CV, so I can control more voices and parameters from my Octatrack, when the Vector gets tied up.
Some Toppobrillo modules added to the main case and the AnalogFX SER-2020 up at the top, are new.
Eventually, I will replace the mk2 versions of the Harvestman oscillators in the main case, with mk1 versions of the same oscillators. I just need to get my hands on another PH mk1!

I feel like modular systems would be a great tool for shrinks to keep in their offices to quickly determine if someone is OCD or ADHD (or both?).

Or maybe the eye you got off of that guy on Contraxia!
You are always welcome if you find yourself in LA. If I end up in the UK, I'm sure I'll find some time to bug you.

With all due sensitivity, I say... its delightful to watch neurodivergent (or neuro-spicy, like myself) folks interact with the means to create art. Often even people who are "high-functioning" revert to a mindset where they are not actively trying to conform to societal norms.cryophonik wrote: Mon Jul 07, 2025 8:26 pm I feel like modular systems would be a great tool for shrinks to keep in their offices to quickly determine if someone is OCD or ADHD (or both?).
I have a musician friend with OCD who will not step into my studio because he's compelled to start plugging things in, whether he knows what to do or not. I told him that's part of the fun! I mean, that's how I learned.
A cousin with Autism will just stands at the threshold of my studio lost in the flashing LEDs.
I love having a spot where folks feel comfortable letting their minds do what they will do.

Super clean and love that you're still using PadKontrol! I unfortunately have mine stored away for some time, but it's a great controller.Ghostwave wrote: Sat Jul 05, 2025 8:06 pm I haven't posted pics in years but here's what my corner of the living-room looks like.
