Anyone Else Been Approached by Behringer?

Don't know what this is all about yet, but does anyone else find it a bit reprehensible for companies to USE freely available stuff to promote their non-free stuff.

And if the plugin developers are getting nothing - but exposure - out of the deal, I say it's even more so.

Or something that does cost money usually (pinnacle products spring to mind..or "lite" versions of shitty photo manupulation apps when you buy a digital camera.)

Nope. Especially since they're checking for permission first.

Never understood why behringer gets dissed.
Back in the early 90's behringer was not that massive and a class product.
Anyway, its a fact that almost all big studio's have at least one behringer product hanging in their racks.

For what a hope for is, that ulli behringer is developing a nice competor for the alesis andromeda

I'm not fussed. The whole point of me making them in the first place is to promote NOVAkILL so if NOVAkILL synths are being distributed with Behringer products, its actually doing us a huge service.
I have no idea what the product is but if I find out, you can be sure I'll let you know.

Well, you shouldn't hesitate to get some swag while you're at it. As long as it isn't a deal breaker... that is if you even want to deal with them.

Why? Who f**king cares, I'm more than happy to pay for the things that I want. This attitude of trying to leverage every situation for your own benefit is sickening. Literally.

Agree... their Composer pro compressor is kind of crap, but you will see it in every studio, it does wonders on snares if you tweak it well...

Well, the early composers the one's made before 93 have different components.
They rock like hell.

Behringer has made things I couldnt afford previously available to me. It is what it is, they make low cost versions of more expensive gear(be it through emulation or reverse engineering) that I cant afford right now. Sure, when you cut costs, there is some risk of creating a shoddy product, but I havent had any behringer gear fail on me yet.

Am I upset that its made in china, yes. I am not upset because it is Chinese though, I am upset because the US has decided to abaondon almost all manufacturing here in favor of cheap labor. If china ever gets pissed at us, I can see the US being in a real pickle when they refuse to manufacture products for us. Its all a double edge sword though, I couldnt afford it if it was made by US factories. at least for now the arrangement seems to be working.

True indeed. The new Vox AC30 CC amps are made in china, and they want upwards of 2 grand for it. Sorry, if behringer can make amps in china using basically the same components for < 500, then so can Vox...

Of course they are, but not scanned. BIG difference.

what are you talking about? a fax is a scanner and communications device, and a computer+scanner could easily be the fax source. are you saying that there is a discrimination between a fax that was recieved from an old fax machine and one that originated from a computer? a facsimile is a copy, whether that be from a photocopier, fax machine or scanner. i've signed contracts that i've printed, scanned them (converted them back to pdf) and sent them off and had no problems. of course, i've never had to present them in court or anything but i can't see any kind of sense behind your comment.
