my muse takes me in whenever i come around, no matter how much i've ignored her, lied to her, cheated on her, or cursed her name...she's always there for a quick hug or an all-nighter...my family never liked her, girls were jealous of her, and i fought with friends over who she loved best...although it's been some time, i still remember the lovely sound she would emit when i made her sing....

what a crock of crap! i'm changing my answer to:

Does this make the computer "an musical instrument...a device used to produce music" and those who use it to create music, musicians? Personally, I'd rather use the term "Sonic Artists" as opposed to "musician", for those that create music without the ability to play an instrument.

Music is a bridge for communicating with people to make them happy and to take them on adventures. I want to write music that really makes people feel. I'm not that good yet, but I will be.

When I write very abstract stuff, I usually don't do it for other people, I do it for myself. That stuff helps me to understand who I am.

As a kid, whenever I'd hear good video game music I'd go "it'd be cool to write music like that..."

Of course the computer is an instrument. A computer takes technique and talent to use for music, just like an acoustic instrument. A computer can even be used live.

If you compose music, you're a musician, whether you play a more traditional instrument or not.

That's my opinion, anyway.

For me, music = life and life = an MMORPG that is 100% realistic without flaw. Creating music gives me experience, moves me to the next level, gives me bragging rights. When I get to I high level I will start making money, doing music for hopefully GAMES ONLY, but I may end up being more of a freelancer for TV, movies, etc. Regardless, I'm going to make big bucks and with that I can support my future family.

I feel nothing is as magical of an experience than magic itself (to create your own music). The earliest signs of wanting to create electronic music was playing Lemmings. I used to play that game solely for its music and sometimes paused the game just to listen to the music run through a few times. Later on in my life I did the same for Need for Speed (the first), Tyrannia, Age of Empires II, Need for Speed 3 4 and 5, and others. I began creating music with Reason 2.5 and never stopped since then. Today I'm desparately trying to expand my tools of music so that I can finally create the music I've always dreamed of creating.

Well I have too much stage fright to be a clown, so music was the next best choice. I'm not sure if you've experienced it, but when you compose music that someone just falls in love with... it's the greatest feeling in the world. The most rewarding aspect of music to me is entertaining someone else with it.

Some musicians are entertainers, others are artists. Sometimes I'm an entertainer, sometimes I'm an artist, but I like to entertain with my music more. It doesn't mean it's less personal, it just means I make a conscious effort to express myself as clearly as possible and to make the music as accessible as I can.

It's just who I am.
