Hi,

I've been waiting for this feature for some months now
I'd like to know if it will also work in Cubase SX ? (I.E. When I press Play in Cubase, LiveSlice starts playing also; stopping Cubase would also Stop LiveSlice's "sequencer") Thanks.

P.S. I know that it is already possible to simulate this operation by using MIDI notes and automation. But I really think that it would be more user frriendly for LiveSlice to react a little bit like a virtual sequencer totally synchronized to the host's Play & Stop functions :) What do you think of this guys :?:

Post

I could make the transport sync an option in settings (would be off by default). Actually this behavior is hardcoded as the only workmode in audiomulch because there is no way to sequence notes in that host (last time I checked anyway).

In the mulch, playback starts when the transport starts, you can only play one arrangement at a time, and midi notes are used to switch the active arrangement. Is this what you imagined?

I could make the transport sync an option in settings [...] playback starts when the transport starts [...]
That's just what I was looking for! Thanks :)

I did a quick search and didn't see this bug mentioned, so forgive me if this has already been reported...

1. Insert LiveSlice 1.35 into a Sonar 5 track
2. Load a loop into a LiveSlice track
3. Display the pitch shifting controls for that LS track
4. Start Sonar's playback
5. Stop Sonar's playback
6. All LiveSlice events are now pitch-shifted down to the slowest possible setting

Hmm. I thought I was running the latest version. I'll have to double check when I get home (stuck at work right now). I may have been using 1.38 and just wrote 1.35 by mistake, but I'll verify this when I get home and post the results.

I remember this problem: Sonar sends out a lot of seemingly random midi control change messages when playback is stopped - one of those is in LiveSlice mapped to set pitch. To get rid of the problem, remove that mapping in the LiveSlice settings. I'm not sure if it's possible to prevent the messages from being sent in the first place.

1.38?
Is that a beta test or an official release?
The most recent version I received is 1.37...

Correction: I am running 1.38, not 1.35. I must have misstyped when I reported the bug.

Ohm: I'll try removing that mapping and see if it fixes the problem. Thanks!

It's a good idea to download one of the free midi monitor VST's and see what CC's your host sends on start / stop, and then avoid those when setting up your CC map in LiveSlice.

Did you ever get my email?
Never got a reaction from you
and my share*it account still tells me:
'Download link expired'.

I got your mail, replied (your gmx.net account) and contacted share*it - they told me they had done whatever it is they do with the files, and I assumed it was settled. I'll contact them again about the matter.
Next time, just send another email - I always handle things within few days - I'm not so busy that my customers have to wait weeks for an update.
I sent an email to you with the update by the way.
