Still think the name is misleading. This instrument at its best is closer to Dizzy or Arturo Sandoval.

BTW - I was wrong. It sounds great without a breath controller (In fact, it seems to sound better without!).
MrDizzy has a ring to it :)

More comments/requests for the Milestones beta:

1) Not having a breath controller, I first tried modulating expression using the modwheel on my keyboard. That worked, but I couldn't find any way to keep it from modulating vibrato at the same time, which wasn't what I was after. It would be nice if one could automatically or manually turn the vibrato off when controlling expresson with the modwheel.

2) It would be really cool if one could MIDI-automate resonance and noise.

3) When expression is rolled way back, the noise starts sticking out a bit too much. You might want to add a tweak that rolls back the nose level a bit when the expression level is very low.

4) Strange things (like thunks/clicks that don't sound like buffer problems) happen in "mute" mode, though I haven't come up with a concise way to reproduce them.

I really like this VSTi!
Tony, great demo! Sounds a little plastic every now and then but that's the instrument and not the playing, for sure.

I would like to get a "keyboarder" version with attack and decay envelope on expression that are automatable of course.
I didn't find a way to have fast high bright notes to play in tune. When I turn up expression it gets brighter but also pitch is too low on high short notes. Any advice how to do it or is this a feature wish?
I reloaded a project in Nuendo2 and it crashes N2.

All the best, FRitz
In the end will be the word.

Phenomenal Guido, you never cease to astound me

Should up the stakes in the wind-emulation game...

Can't wait til I've got my keyboard back (moving house at the moment)
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

A little EQ and compression, and it's ...

And I agree, "MrDizzy" is a more appropriate name.

Well done, Guido!
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

Thanks topaz, fritzman :D

the "plastic" thing i swear is just the pitch bend range thing, i swear if i could set that to just 3-5 semitones i could do something that would fool myself. I had to really try and tip-toe with my normal wx5 settings and on those too big shakes ive just given up and im lettin go. On the wx5 the "reed" doesnt vibrate or anything it just pushes a little lever for pitch bend thats located underneath it and i can get in the "groove" with any synth that has a programmable pitch bend range so that i feel like im one with it sorta.

i could adjust it on the wx5 but thats done with a tiny phillips screwdriver so thats not gonna happen.

on my vl70m i set pitch bend range per patch preset, its be cool to have it like this because say for classical you want a lot less and for jazz a bit more.

murpheys law dictates that as soon as i go into nuendo and take forever (i suck at this) to program a midi input transformer operation to limit/compress the pitch bend range guido will have a new version that has that built in.

prbably applies to the sax as well and especially the trombone, bari sax etc etc etc.

as for the name, this guy deserves to trot out his ego on this one, on real trumpets they are all called trumpets of course and then usually preceded by last names, like "bach stradivarius trumpet" and "benge trumpet" "martin trumpet" conn, monette etc etc etc. maybe he should call it <insert last name> modeled trumpet, or maybe the guido physical trumpet, or actually id like guido physics trumpet to me that says it all cause its a trumpet, in physics, by guido and kind of explains to people its not samples, its very special.

i could go on and on, im very excited about all of this.

and so you should be ..

so <tongue-in-cheek> isn't it such a shame that it an SE plugin and not a proper real genuine one </tongue-in-cheek>

i am not a brass person myself, but from a technical point of view i am just amazed. the fourth MP3 is just ridiculous, it sounds so realistic to me. Congratulations! :D

I've read all of your comments and first of all I wish to thank you for the compliments!
To be honest, I always wish my work in VST plugins doesn't hurt anybody else's business.
During the development, the funniest part is reading your comments and seeing your reactions, so I can know whether to go on or give up. I really love this sort of "collaboration".

Hey WX-5 guy, I've added the Pitch Bend range control... test it now

haven't tried new v. yet but reiterating oc choice or not of mod wheel to vibrato as per user and glad for pitch bend scaler!

glad to hear it a/bs better than oasys! it does sound bloody great, which imo is due to having real love for making what you do work for people, not a degree and a job.

now get on with that sax model! :D will u/l hiphop track in day or two.
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.
