this has turned to a hairy thread

many thanx tomg, one more vote for some fake-tape fx :P

I tossed the manual together in a couple of hours. I hate doing documentation! I didn't have Acrobat installed so I did a straight jpg -> html.

If it's too slow to load grab the zip and view local.

I didn't see any horrible spelling errors, omissions or mistakes so I hope it helps. I didn't realize how complicated it's gotten until I tried to explain it.

Ok.. I found the first one myself. :D On page one I state that you can't "pinch-in" that, that would require an new DH_module. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

EDIT : there are mistakes all over this thing but thankfully you can still tell what I'm talking about.

Sure, sorry it's so bad but I've been working on it sense I posted the link and it's getting better. Manual v.02? Yep, that's what I'm saying but I gotta sleep now. I need to answer some of these comments but that has to wait too. Nite.

Everybody doing OK?

Good to hear. I'm sorry I haven't had much of a chance in the last couple of days to do much. My family's sick, and I'm carrying the brunt of it right now. I'll try to do more testing soon. I really appreciate your work on this! Thanks so much! Manual v.02 sounds great!

Hi tomg,
I've compiled a quick 'n dirty PDF file from your help pages.
Would it be OK to upload them to "You Send It" for folks to grab it?

Lemme know

Regards
Raphael ;)

Edit: I've just tried 8-track in Bidule, and it doesn't seem to work there because
I can not sync it to the "Sync transport" or anything else that gives out tempo/Start-Stop
information. So I'm also unable to play an already existing .wav file.
I don't think files have to be named "track1(..2...3..etc).wav" to load them, no?
Could you have look at this maybe when you get some time? It'd be really killer to use in Bidule.
TIA
:)

You should be able to load and play any *.wav file. There is no sync at all right now. Have you tried any other hosts? I don't have Bidule but I guess I could grab a demo.

Thank you, but hold up on the manual. It is incomplete. I'll post a new version later today. I see that I need to add host sync and that will requite a little more explanation too.

Yes, you can grab a Bidule demo on their site http://www.plogue.com
I do have other hosts, but don't see a need to use 8-track in them since they provide similar/better options to mix/bounce diff. wave files.
While you're at it, is it possible in SE to provide more than 2 Audio Inputs? This way we could record several audio files to DIFFERENT tracks at once!!!
Anyway, love this idea and thanks for your effort. Brings back forgotten memories 8) :tu:

I added host sync although I'm not sure it'll work. I'm pretty sure I can add more track inputs and make it selectable, I've got 12. I seem to remember it being hard to tell what's what after 2. I'll try.

Does V.03 jump the vst fence and land in instruments? You can play it with a keyboard :D

Man, things just keep getting better and better! I will be working the graveyard shift (all night) tonight, and if I get a chance, I'll try it on Tunafish, which has no native audio. Thanks again for the great work!!!!!
