i check the website daily... :D

Should be soon. I haven't tested the final VST build, yet, but I think they have it mostly done. I know they were focusing on getting the AU build done.

But you guys are going to love it, really excellent sounds come out of it. The stereo signal chain makes it a completely different beast from previous versions.

Christ, I hate this plugin. It has been a struggle from day one. I'll be so glad when we get it out the door!

That said, we've got the AU done except for the MIDI->Pitch feature. As soon as that's done, the VSTs get rebuilt (to account for changes we made while doing the AU) and everything goes to final beta. This should happen today. Then all we have to do is make presets and write the manual.

So, hopefully you'll be able to buy a Discord 2 this week. But don't hold your breath, because the way things are going with this... well, let's just say that I said early on we're not putting out a half-assed plugin, and I'm sticking to my guns there.

thx for the update :)

Just a small question can the midi pitch feature work on the fine tune adjustment? instead of just shifting the audio up or down semtiones.

this is a pretty pointless post, but, just to say . I'm *really* looking forward to this one!

Would you ever consider a pre-buy button? So that we can act on our impulse, and then just wait for you to sweat and stress and complete the plugin? ;)

That makes it easier for us (kvr'ians / customers), we don't have to check your site and this thread all the time... just wait for the download link to come into our mailbox :D

I LOVE this product!!!! it sounds amazing...

(just thought i'd get in there first guys! ;)

If we had pre-sales, I wouldn't be able to throw in the towel. On the bright side, it would keep Adam from jumping off a bridge. Seriously, this thing is giving us grief at every possible turn.

However, I believe we got everything 100% on the AU. Tomorrow, fresh-baked VST versions, presets, and the manual. Dear god. Make it stop.

As for the MIDI note -> fine pitch, no, we won't have that feature on this iteration. But who knows? There's always room for improvement!

*Don't* improve anything..Hit the 'export .dll file' and get it out of there..It's ok, you can do it, take a deep breath..

:P :hihi: :P

I do have some bad news that I forgot to mention in my last post. 90% of the troubles we were having (on all three versions of the plugin) were related to the new text edit feature we had planned to include in this, and eventually put in all our products.

It is actually quite cool, because on any control, you just double-click and it brings up a text edit window, and you can enter in a value. Very handy in a plug like this where you might have a specific digit in mind for your pitch shift amount or whatever.

However, the CTextEdit object in VSTGUI that we would use to accomplish this feat is f**ked. Like, 6 different ways. We developed workarounds that appeared to cover everything on the Windows platform (more or less; there were still some minor bugs) but once we moved development to OSX, new problems cropped up. And kept on cropping. It has been the worst game of Whack-A-Mole we've ever had to play.

So, we unfortunately had to remove the text edit feature from all versions until the VSTGUI settles down after its recent major upheaval. It can be dealt with in Windows. mostly. The OSX VST is workable. But the OSX AU is just f**ked as a result, and this is a rather minor feature to hold up our entire company for literally months.

So, believe it or not, that's what the major problem was. Now that it is gone, it's just the normal dev hiccups, but they seem more annoying than usual because we spent so much time on that damned text edit feature.

Post

The text entry certainly is a cool feature, handiest on the pitch settings, but I agree with you that it was only tangential to the plugin's overall utility. I'm also of the opinion that stuff that doesn't work 100% should be left on the drawing board, so I'm glad you cut it out for that reason.

Hopefully many/most hosts will have a workaround for exact values (my main one does, at least).

Okay, we're officially Done with the AudioUnit version. There is a blurb on my blog about it, here:

We've got to rebuild the VST versions now, and add the presets, but otherwise we're disco. Not long now!

That's good news.
