EDIT: Actually, I wouldn't say 1.5.3 is rock-solid, I get weird GUI issues and they removed features from 1.0 that they never put back in. But v2 is a nightmare.

Sytrus, because it is logically designed, sounds great, amazingly versatile, compact, and fully integrated with FL.

ToxicIII, sounds stunning, has a simple one-page interface, can do big VA sounds all the way to metallic FM sounds and everything in between. It rocks my VSTi world
(Closely followed by RMIV - no track of mine exists without it).

There are so many wonderful ones, but if I had to name 1 (I always take 2
) it would be Reaktor5, and even as someone who can't build great own ensembles, it is simply stunning.
Then M-Tron
...and Symptohm Melohman and Rhino2....Cronox3 and and...
okay. If it has to be just one, then Reaktor.

1) Arturia Moog Modular V - it's the most analog, round and deep sounding vsti I've ever heard.
2) Virsyn Cube - very experimental, very usable/intuitive, clean and fat.
3) AAS Tassman - everything sounds "natural" and is very playable (i.e. high inspirational factor).
Best regards,
Andreas

Oddity for me. So funky, easy to pull a slider and get a whole spectrum of new sounds. The duo mode is great, with ring mod. All those nice features, but not too many to make sound creation take all day.

Here's an embarassing admission:
I don't think I could ever switch to another host than FLStudio because I use the BooBass so, so much. It's got 3 knobs. It sounds pretty much like a bass guitar. But, oh, how wonderful it is to have the internal FL bends on the piano roll score affect it. I love bass guitar and have never been able to get a bass player to play anything I wrote because it's too nuts. 35/16 bass solo all over the entire range of the bass with violent slides in between? BooBass has it covered. As much as I love sound design and crazy noises I still come back to the BooBass all the time and that's generally what non-crazies end up commenting on and loving in all my songs. Too bad it's not a VST... I couldn't even remotely pick my favorite VST I don't think.
