Ummm....spot that HALionOne on last screenshot. Maybe we will finaly have some sampler inside Cubase (stripped down version of HALion). Just a guess.......

Yeah, they might as well. That's the only hope HALion has of surviving Giga and Kontakt.

Oh yes: maybe it won't take half an hour for Cubase to close now?

I was under the impression that HALionOne was kind of a Kore thing.

Nobody noticed the insert and send fx routing part in pic 4? just maybe they finally introduced the flexible changing of the fx chain.
anyway it's really funny how people get all worked up (in a positive or negative way) about a few screenshots...
let's give it time and see how this turns out and what the new version is actually like...

It looks good to me. A bit more Nuendo like too.

The channelEQ will remain the same. They are stuck with it. They cant change it or there would be incompatability between cubase projects.

Reckon we might get some more yamaha plugs. I notice the yamaha final master plug has resurfaced.

Wish it was still called SX4. cubase4 is crap.!

Of course they can - this exact thing happened in Logic, they replaced the old mixer channel EQ's with the Fat EQ. What they did was, existing projects loaded up the "old" EQ's so as not to change them, but on new projects, you can only insert the new EQ plugin, which sounds better.

Best of both worlds - retain song compatibility for those who need it, and upgrade the DSP for the future...

Logic doesnt have an actual EQ built into the channel though does it?

Steinberg introduced the 'Q' Eq as well but they cant change the built in one.

That's what I'm saying - it *used* to have one built into the channel, but they provided a new much better one 5, which worked as an insert. They left the old EQ in to retain compatibility, but you couldn't actually add them anymore, you only used the new (insert-based) one...

The finally actually removed the channel based EQ's in Logic 6 I believe - old songs will load in with the new EQ instead...

I just got a strange feeling in my gutt telling me that this version is just an esthetic update and not as much a feature rich one... Dont know why my spidey sense kicked in.. (shaking it off)..

Cosmetically, the new plug-ins resemble Logic somewhat. But in terms of the features that are visible on its panel, Spector looks almost identical to the "specTERA" page of VirSyn's TERA:

Similarly, the new Prologue has features like fmTERA, and the new Mystic has features like waveTERA.

This makes sense, since Steinberg has had the TERA-based D'Cota for a long time. Now it looks like they've isolated parts of that engine (maybe updated to reflect some of the latest developments in TERA) and given them more user-friendly interfaces.
