Thanks Aleksey - that's good news indeed :D

No vis, but I do have a VST-Winamp plugin running. Removing that didn't do anything. I'm gonna wait on the updated version before doing any more testing though.

Aleksey Vaneev wrote: About edit groups:
Edit group is the group you are now editing in the Graphic A or Graphic B.
Underlay group selects which group to display as blue underlay. Underlays
can be useful when editing two groups - to see how they differ from each
other.
Some ideas:

Can you make the current selected group have a "snap to underlay group" feature, for each slider (for instance it could be a modifier key, like SHIFT+click). Also, could you make it possible to change groups on both channels at the same time. So, if I 'right-click' on a group in A channel, then also B channel goes up or down the same amount.

Great sound, great GUI (good work Vladimir!!)

EDIT: also, I forgot to say, Mid/Side routing to the current system would make all your plugins absolutely KILLER!

Cheers!

- The History window is quite handy.
- I think the plugin is a bit big, when i look at the font's size(not a 'problem', anyway).
- I can't make it produce any sound in Reaper.

hello, here are my in depth thoughts...

Processor: Intel Pentium D 3.0 GHz

-= Thoughts about the GUI =-
It's simply gorgeous, simple yet very elegant. Nice and large, very easy to see and read. Only things I'd love to see are..
- Mouse wheel support for knobs & sliders
- Ability to enter numeric values using the keyboard

-= Useability =-
Just awesome, easy to understand, everything is very clearly labelled. Undo history rocks ! A / B couldn't be better, I love it ! A few things that I'm not understanding...
- In the preset manager, I expected that when I double click on a preset, it would be loaded, but it isn't, I must move my mouse to the Activate button. Double click would be really good here since all plugins I've used with built in preset managers do this and thus it has become some what of a standard.
- since I can click and drag to "draw" my EQ curve, I expected that if I clicked anywhere on the vertical portion of a band, the slider would automatically move there. e.g. if my fader was at 10 db and I clicked on the -10 db part of the slider of the GUI, I expected the slider to move automatically. With the current way, I must click on a slider, drag it down, then draw the curve.

-= Sound =-
Just gorgeous, definitely one of the most natural sounding graphic EQs I have heard. I notice this does some colouration, adds a tad of tube distortion and changes the lows a little, really nice and subtle.

-= Stability & CPU Usage =-
Works perfectly stable with no issues in Wavelab Lite 2.5 and Cubase SL 3.11. For a 7 band EQ, CPU usage is very high on my machine. It takes exactly the same CPU power to do 5 bands of GlissEQ with Dyn set to 4 on all bands (i.e. dynamic mode is on for ALL bands). The CPU usage is also exactly the same as the Marquis compressor.

Your new direction is a huge step in my opinion. You are now not only matching GUI quality of high end plugins, but you are also completely reinveting what a plugin should be. The routing abilities alone are a first. The preset manager is the best I've seen. The undo history .. WOW !

Huge thanks for this Aleksey

That undo history thing is truly something new and really innovative! Great great! Aleksey for president!

Warmonger wrote:As far as fonts, I was wondering about the title and button fonts.
These are from http://www.rubicon.ca/ : Opulent and Hilbert Neve fonts. High quality as far as I'm concerned. Just $59 for the full set. :) Readout font is BigNoodleTitling (c) James Arboghast/Sentinel Type,2003 - this one is free for any use.
for 59 USD you would have got an original Optima!
And for that money you can also get an old version of corel draw which comes with over 1000 high quality fonts (an Optima clone from ITC is also included)

I'm sad to confirm that in Reaper 1,10, i only hear clicks... No music comes out... :(

Reaper 1.06, just silence no sound.

jens, you'll have to use energyXTE for multi IO.
I don't use eXT as a plugin...

Thank you for your comments.

bmanic, I will add these linking options to my todo list.

soundpalace, mousewheel support will be available later. Numeric entry is also planned. Preset manager will be improved a bit in the future. As for the EQ clicking - I do not want to allow this as this will decrease precision when you just want to move slider a bit (in your scenario it will 'jump' to mouse position).

I have fixed bugs found so far (64-bit audio is now supported correctly, 48000 sample rate too). EQ at -12dB bug in Sonar was also fixed. It should work in Reaper, too.

here is the beta2: http://www.voxengo.com/temp/OvertoneGEQbeta2.zip
(sorry, I do not put version info on the UI itself - this bit will be added later, but VST version info is now updated to v1.0.1).

Maybe eXT does not want to set plug-in channel count? Overtone GEQ supports up to 8 I/O channels - what it will actually use depends on the host version (should be 2.3 or up), and speaker arrangement host provides to it.

still only two ins and outs in eXT...
