Yes, sure. I think I fired off an angry email to them...or maybe not, I don't recall the response. You're correct, but their original plugins just don't have as stupid names.

I agree, they probably weren't breaking even with their plugins. Despite their excellence, they didn't seem to be as prevalent as Voxengo or Kjaerhus. I hope they're rolling in it now, though. That must hurt to see your pearls turned into swine.

I have to agree on this one. I remember the unending pages of insults about this guy because of his business deal with the original developers. so what? he's not the programmer. he's simply slapping his name on the shit and marking it up bigtime in price, so the pros will buy it because they will think "hey it costs alot it must be great, and it's endorsed by the guy who recorded sony and cher".

Actually, I believe he DOES take credit for "developing" these plug-ins... I know the quote is around here somewhere or maybe on the RND website.

if you do a search, especially about the NAMM stuff, his PR and the press are all setting this up as something "new" and "innovative" "from the mind of Roger Nichols". Not a word about these being acquired from someone else, etc.

Interestingly enough, however, RND just released their first actual new plugin: The Detailer! True to their word, it's obviously designed by you-know-who.

Hmm, boy, that sure does come awful close to taking credit for the Plug-ins he bought, er, "designed".

And the Wendel "plug-in"... in 1978!?! Come on, first off plug-ins were years away, and secondly Gary Katz was every bit responsible for the Dan Drums as was Bernie Purdie, who played the freakin' things...

WENDEL was an early sequencer, and was a nightmare to use. It was not a plug-in

hmm i thought it was funny because there was basically NO difference at all between the two images, other than the background fill color..

and your response.. "OMG...speechless..." etc. seemed to highlight the IRONY of this, and people's slagging of the new GUIs..

i thought it was funny as hell

i just REALLY hate the brushed metal look. Just look at it... it doesnt bother your eyes compared to the older one?

hmm, i didn't really see brushed metal at all untill i looked closely.. i just scrolled up to have a look.. on memory i would have said "both look identical, one with a blueish background and one with a greyish one. same GUI though"

at least you don't hate the brushed metal look enough to go on a rampage everytime someone mentions a product that uses it
