*scratch that i was entering midi into the wrong channel.. i have to enter the notes via playing midi1 w/ hc, not midi2 with the synth
I cant seem to get this working. i am following these directions exactly..
-in Live, set up hypercyclic on midi track 1
-in Live for midi track 1, set "Monitor" to "Auto"
-in HC, set the "midi from" combo to "VST/AU Host" and the channel to 1 (or, alternatively, try the demo chords)
-in HC, set the "midi to" combo to "VST Host" and the channel to 1
-in Live, add a second midi track with Operator (or whatever synth) on it
-in Live, for track 2, set "Midi From" to "1-MIDI"
-in Live, for track 2, set the combo immediately below the previous one to "hypercyclic"
-in Live, for track 2 set Monitor to "In"
i am using intel mac, vst version, in live.. is there something silly i am missing?
if i switch midi2 to IN i get no sound, if i leave midi2 on AUTO i just get the synth sound i programmed in or play.

Neat! Is there any chance you'll be releasing the source or did you buy one of those pesky commercial licenses? I'd love to see how you implemented the graph, plus your LFO/Arps.mucoder wrote:yep, it's Juce (with some L&F tweaking by yours truly). Great library by Jules of rawmaterialsoftware.com
What's L&F?
I'm new to gui programming. I've cobbled together a few MIDI mangling apps with ncurses, portmidi, and Mac's internal IAC bus. It's not pretty but it's functional. I just discovered Juce and need to spend some time to learn the basics of receiving midi and sending it.
Hope I didn't hijack your support thread.

Thanks for the offer. After I get a basic project set up I may have a few questions about how you did a thing or two. I still hope ya win the KVR dev, hypercyclic is cool!mucoder wrote:hi bmrzycki, sorry no gpl, it's commercial license indeed. But don't let that stop you from asking me for help. Best place for that is in the juce audio forum on rawmaterialsoftware.com though. You can also pm me there.
BTW, have you thought about possibly setting ranges for the oscillator to touch? By that I mean, say you want to oscillate between 1/16 and 1/16T for the Arp rate. AS it stands today, I don't see an easy way to do this.

yeah, good suggestion. Maybe not ranges on the oscillator itself, but rather some kind of modulation matrix, with modulation depth & range per parameter would be handier indeed.
You can do it now, but it requires careful tuning of both the LFO level and dc offset parameters (for resp. compressing and raising the amplitude of the LFO curve). There is a bit of explanation of that in the manual. It's sort of similar to how you'd set compression ratio and make-up gain on a compressor (but w/o a threshold).

Right. I'm guessing you have a lot of ideas for this product and will probably release a "Pro" version. I'll just have to wait and see what comes from the mind of mucoder!mucoder wrote:yeah, good suggestion. Or possibly "Beefy"?mucoder wrote:that being said, "pro" sounds a bit weird when applied to midi mangling, huh? "insane" is maybe more accurate as the next step up
Hypercyclic Beefy....mmmm

Hypercyclic is great, just ran it into Odo's Six 2.
It's only like 1.3%cpu.
