Guys, I totally respect your decision to remain dongleless, and a new guitar is always a good idea Cordelia.
For my part, I've been dongled for years without a whisper of trouble.
With respect to Speakerphone, I find it amazing, certainly one of the best and most creative sound processing tools I've laid my hands on.

don't know if this is the best place to ask this question, but thought Mr p-slax or others may be able to speak to it: can you load other IR's from the altiverb collection (say for instance... the recently released Gol Gumbaz IR's...) into Speakerphone?

Unfortunately not bb. The IRs in Altiverb are not compatible with Speakerphone, nor can you load Speakerphone IRs in Altiverb.blortblort wrote:don't know if this is the best place to ask this question, but thought Mr p-slax or others may be able to speak to it: can you load other IR's from the altiverb collection (say for instance... the recently released Gol Gumbaz IR's...) into Speakerphone?

Yes, the 5 gb sample library can be installed wherever you want, including an external drive. The Speakerphone IRs (much smaller) go to a location designated by the installer.misterg wrote:that group buy is very tempting indeed!
current users... can the 4+ gig library be installed on an external drive?

is this really good then poly ? i love the principle and the audio demos sound nice but its not a cheap option.
tempted though, seems both flexible and well put together and i trust your judgment (and you obviously like it) so you might sway me... i wonder if you could get some commission, buy a few more pianokeys ties
cheers,
steve.

If you like what you're seeing in the vid and hearing in the sound samples, it's more impressive in person imo. I really want to stress imo and ymmv and all that cause it is an expensive piece of kit. They have said there'll be a demo soon, whether before the group buy finishes up I don't know.
I think you get the idea with the sound samples but if there's anything in particular you want to hear let me know and I'll try to get some samples together.

There goes at least 300 bucks I don't have
ps-thanks for the heads up on the LUG dealio, poly and zvenx.
really wish the thing would load altiverb IR's, but 300 beats the pants off $500. merry effin' Christmas to me!
(due to bad short-term mem, I cannot remember if the movie said if the ambience library was a "fixed set" or if it would be expanding... might have to go watch it again anyway to convince meself of my decision

I know whatcha mean, but after seeing the movie- it's hard to pin this thing into the "lofi" corner... I mean it can and will be abused to that end, but the other crazy shit that it can do?
the 'infommercial' makes me believe that it's possibilities are a little more wide open and may hopefully be a little less "immediately recognizable" than say... the 1987 dx7 ep sound
I'll admit it- I want me some sideband distortion "Charlie Brown's teacher meets THX1138" vocals and some serious robot talk
