I'm using Tracktion 3. I must be really dense. I drop an instance of the effect in the filter section of an audio track, set the input to MIDI and record enable. Then I use notes on my synth to control the effect?sonicfire wrote:@integratron: yes, please keep in mind that you have to route a MIDI track to it, and trigger the choosen effect using MIDI notes! (C1-E1 are reserved for switching between the five effects).
Hope that helps

OK - I got it now. Not sure what I was missing? Looks like the track has to be record enabled - that's probably what I forgot! doh! Kinda like a manual version of Minion.

Sorry, think i have solved it just about! Trying demo now
Trying to get the demo to work.
I get the white noise but nothing else.
Can someone tell me how to route midi to the plugin? I'm using cubase sx2. Do I HAVE to use an external midi controller or can i do it all within cubse?
I have it as an insert effect on a stereo audio channel at the moment.
Sorry for the newbie questions!
Cheers

Would anyone who still has this demo by willing to e-mail it to me or make it available again online now that the Prodyon site is gone? I would really like to give this effect a go, but I cannot get my hands on it. A PM would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Sonicfire is Prodyon ... he's pretty active on KVR at the moment. He has a classy new harmonizer effect called Enchoir on Group Buy at the moment.Bunburyist wrote:Would anyone who still has this demo by willing to e-mail it to me or make it available again online now that the Prodyon site is gone? Many thanks for the clarification and links (which I've seen prior to writing here--but thanks, in any case
), thecontrolcentre. I would write more, but the spam alert prevents me from writing anything substantive.

Hi, Do you have an installer for Asteroid? I have digged up the internet all over and nothing.
Best Regards,

sonicfire wrote: Mon Nov 19, 2007 4:53 am Hello there!
I have a new DJ plugin for PC (VST) in the pipeline, called "Asteroid".
Here's the first demo:
http://www.prodyon.net/demos/Asteroid_DEMO.rar (http://www.prodyon.net/demos/Asteroid_DEMO.rar)
The demo version injects some random white noise into the output periodically.
I will include a PDF manual, quickstart guide and stuff in the next package
You can have a look at a little video demonstrating it here:
http://www.prodyon-virtual-gear.com/Ast ... FX_VST.wmv (http://www.prodyon-virtual-gear.com/Asteroid_DJ_FX_VST.wmv)
Version 1.0 has been released, it costs $49.95 USD, for more information and ordering go to http://www.prodyon.net (http://www.prodyon.net).
Quickstart:
----------
Use your MIDI-keyboard/pad/controller to trigger the effect. C1,C#1,D1,D#1 and E1 are used for switching between the effects, while any other key triggers the choosen effect itself.
The Modwheel (CC1) is hard-routed to the Dry/Wet knob. Controllers 85/86 can be used to move the circle on the pad without using the mouse if required.
Use your hosts automation to record your "performance".
----------
Was there not a single wet sound from any effect at all?
The Asteroid is a live-oriented multi-fx plugin featuring five different effects, each with its own delay. It works a bit like Korg's Kaoss Pad. You can freely assign the X and Y axis to different knobs. For now it has a monophonic multifilter, a polyphonic filter (which is very nice), a lofi slicer, a comb filter and a (up to) 32 stage-phaser.
It also features a FX-release feature, and you can switch the FX with no clicks/pops and the previous used effect will continue to audition.
You trigger the FX via any MIDI-note, so you can also use it as a trancegate somehow, in addition to this you can switch the effects also via MIDI.
It will be ready very soon!
Oh and yes, it's done using the best VST-creation-software ever: Synthedit!![]()
