i have a terretec dmxfire card which is pretty old now, but still works pretty well(the drivers must be pretty ancient tho, i dont think they ever released any updates.) Actually, i use asio4all on my laptop and i still got some clicking -its not there on the pro version tho.

well i couldnt resist , just bought sts-24 as well.

I have a sparse electro piece i am working on and added some simple playing with protoplasm today.. it fitted in very nicely

just a quick question..
when i load a bank in sts-24 pro, i get pop up signs saying-
"some parameters could not be loaded-older file version"
It happens with all the banks, they still load and sound ok.
-is that normal behaviour?

no worry about that. Once the fxb have been saved again this message will be gone.

Just picked up the STS24-i and the Protoplasm.

I can't seem to find a way to load .wav files into the STS-24i. Am I missing something?

Not a big deal, mind you...these things sound great without any additional sounds.

if its the same as protoplasm you just click the sf2 button again and then on the little window (yes! protoplasm loads wavs too

)
otherwise the manual is there.

I can get it to work on Protoplasm, but there is no .Wav option on my copy of STS-24i. Clicking the button just switches between "Intern" and "SF2". The manual suggests that there should be a third option (for .Wav files), but I don't get that option.

Any ideas?

Yes, I understand how it's supposed to work. That works fine for me with Protoplasm, but with STS-24i, it only cycles between Internal and SF2.

I load it in to Sonar, and I see this for oscillator B-4

I click the button next to "intern" and I get this:

I click this button next to SF2 and get this:

Hence, my confusion.

As I've noticed The STS-24 i Pro is really missing the load wave option. This is probably due to the circumstance when I compiled the dll I was using the latest modified source file and in that one I had removed the load wave option for some reason. As this source had been from 2006 this change slipped thru my attention - sorry.

Anyway loading single wave files is far less flexible than loading a bunch of waves in an SF2 container which does offer a far more instant access to change waves on the fly. Here 'Viena' by K. Rundt is a neat freeware program to assemble waves farily easy into an SF2 container.

This one has never been available to the public as it had been a special X-Mas gift for registered users in 2005.

As an alternative to that one you might get LunarOrbit which is even more versatile in some ways, and is available for free to all members of my yahoo group.

Thanks H.G....I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing how to do it.

Of course, you're right. An .sf2 file is much more useful, and can easily be built from the .wav files. Thanks for the link to Vienna.

I'm really enjoying the synths. Some software instruments are good, and some software instruments are good AND inspiring. These synths are in the latter category. Really impressive work.
