I downloaded the demo numerous times. The only thing I really want now for software is to be able to replace my Korg Legacy collections with something comparable that isn't dongled.

is the dongle the only reason you are getting rid of your Korg LC?
I too own KLC and love it but maybe it is a fresher set of sounds for me, but I don't use it as much since I got Zebra2 and a few other synths over the xmas. Have you listened to Michael Kastrup's presets?

Hard to say exactly, it's just the tone. I know it's a subjective thing, but it sounds cold to me.
Zebra is capable of incredible warmth and ice cold digital as well. I'd say Sylenth and Zebra compliment each other very well.

Yes, and yes I also checked out that preset demo. As for synths I think the closest thing that is is going to replace the KLC AE is either the FXpansion Synth Squad or AQ Poly-Ana. Not sure about a replacement for the digital edition yet.

This sounds AMAZING: http://www.admiralquality.com/products/ ... _dance.mp3

That bass and chords are just insane!

Hehe. Your opinion usually is exactly the same as mine, so I'm a bit surprised to see that you don't like Zebra's sound. It's like U-He would call somebody an idiot. Or BONES would say something friendly to someone. You just don't expect those things to happen ;)

Try these:

Great bass response, stylish, and they'll keep your ears warm while you're using Zebra 2 (a.k.a., The Best Software Synthesizer Available)... Also comes in Too Hot Pink w/ black polka dots, and Classic Dalmation.

Anthony has good Dynaudio's, same as me, so that can't be it ;)

Considering you're one of the best sound designer around I think you know what you're talking about.

I'm already a user of Zebra and I love it. Can you help me understand why you think Helix is that great? I tried the demo, love the sound but didn't really try programming it. Thing is it take me a lot of time to really start understanding new synths (its just a hobby for me, don't do a lot of time with that). So just by the demo I can't really judge its value and power. That's whay I'm asking you if you (or anyone else really) can provide me with reasons you beleive its so great.

Also, can Helix do some thing Zebra can't?

Have to agree with Teksonik here, Sylenth and Zebra may be the best two synth combo. To compare the two against each other isn't the right approach. Sylenth1 can do dirty nasty gritty better. Zebra is more flexible and can do clean, crisp better. Combine the two and you have alot of bases covered.

Yebut thos Dynaudios won't keep your ears toasty... Cold synths require proper head gear... and layers... always wear layers...

Perfectly said. :tu:

The set that Brok did for Helix is nice. But man, when I listen to most of the music on their main page, some sounds really want to make me cry (like that 'trance take 2', just sounds terrible and it's not that I don't like the genre, lol). So no, never really understood the love for Helix either. But oh well, drifing offtopic again ;)
