I sure understand about the desire to stand out from the crowd of muted colors that just lay there, but the acid flashback (beautiful stolen quote) would drive me nuts within an hour of actual use! Understood that this is for a specific market that nearly demands EVERYTHING is "edgey", but that contrasting color scheme was a bit hard on the eyes, if not the psyche for anything but a quick glance. Of course just my POV.

But as relatively dull and ordinary as the second design may be, I sure could see many hours sitting in front of this layout (as I often do) and feeling comfortable and undistracted by the interface. OK, sucks getting old, but sometimes less eye-strain can make for music more directly from the heart and mind, for me anyway.

Limeflavour seems to have a fine grasp on the GUI front! Scott is talented too, but exhibits some design tendancies that really erk me, such as flash first and functionality second. In fact most of the well-known interface designers here show impressive talent, and some appear to be exceptionally in-tune with the concept of presenting the app to its greatest utility while still maintaining a sense of flair along the way! I certainly appreciate ALL of these designer's fine artistry!

Mike, I'm sad to hear of this setback for SuperCore, but look forward to seeing your baby brought to life for the world to finally explore and enjoy!!!

yeah, the new interface looks waaay better.
Limeflavour has created some wonderful designs, the fire and ice thing is probably not what he wanted, but what the client asked. And the client was hapy with it. But the client doesn't always have the best "eye" ;-) (no offense intended on you, parry316raver)
It's a matter of taste, in the end...

Damn Karmacomposer, first the DSK thing and now this, it must be the year of the pigeon for you :D

Hope things work out on all matters, for everyone!

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! It makes me want to buy the product just to get the skin. :hihi:

Well done to both you and Limeflavour. :hail:

Well, Limeflavour is unavailable, so we might as well stop suggesting him. I talked to him and he is too busy to do my skin. He suggested another designer who I attempted to contact and have not heard back from.

Meanwhile, Scott Kane has yet to show up, and SURELY he has read this thread - his name is in the damn title.

I see where this is heading. Why, oh why am I have the worst of luck lately.

Any other suggestions for AVAILABLE skin designers that can do photo-realistic work and won't charge me a fortune? I already talked to Cusis, who is an EXCELLENT designer, but I am afraid his fees are way out of my league.

If you want to DIY it I had posted several Skinman files that could serve as a base design for a GUI, you would simple have to expand on it to get what you need. I don't have them up right now but I could send them to you or a particular one if you want. You can see them mid way through my photobucket page here:

Ummm, I did do a DIY and people hated it (www.supersynths.com) - Monstrous.

Nope, i'll hire a professional, but thank you very much for the thought.
